The 996. For years it was the underdog of the Porsche world. Many hated the way the car looked and thought it under performed. But in recent months, tides have turned, and people are starting to appreciate the amazing car that is, and one of these cars is the 996 GT3.

The 996.1 GT3 was the first ever car to wear the GT name, and it was somewhat underwhelming. It looked the same as the regular 996 with the optional aero kit, and the brakes were too underpowered, and quickly overheated. A lot of this was changed for the 996.2, where the car was developed differently from a regular 911. The car had new suspension, new steering, and new wheels and brakes, to help it drive like a track bread race car. The car made 375Hp from a 3.6 litre Flat 6, the perfect engine for the car.
