Porsche Carrera Cup GB 05th April 2009. Round 1 Race 2.    

Brands Hatch, a sunny Sunday afternoon. Just another day at the office for Porsche Carrera GB driver Tony Gilham. It’s 3pm he’s getting ready,putting on his helmet and saftey gear.He’s ready to take on the challange of 34 laps at speeds of 130mph around the world famous grand prix circuit Brands Hatch.

There’s a great line up, a starting grid of 19 anxious drivers, 7 excited teams and dozen’s of even more excited sponsors. The grandstands are full with motorsport enthusiasts. 

The pro’s,Tim Bridgeman, Tim Harvey and Micheal Caine take postions 1 , 2 & 3. Gilham starts this round of the Porsche Carrera cup in grid position 13, he has his work cut out for him.

The tension is rising as the lights turn from red to green… go go go as all 18 cars dive for the first corner, Gilham manages to jump a few places before the first corner, great start as he gets in to P9. 

The saftey car is called out halfway through the race as Geddie and his team mate clash. The race continues Gilham chasing Lawson as the clock ticks away only 2 miniutes until the chequered flag, Gilham makes his move overtaking Lawson on pit straight, Lawson holds his line, a slight touch and in the blink of an eye …..

Gilham’s car number 34 spins out of control hitting both sides of the pit straight, Red flag…. and it’s all over, Bridgeman takes 1st place followed by Tim Harvey and Caine.

 Just a bad day at the office !

The Porsche carrera cup GB continues. Gilham is already talking about Thruxton in 2 weeks.  The bodyshop team have got their work to do.  Porsche GT3 Cup front bumper, rear bumper, bonnet, front wing are just some of the original Porsche parts needed to get Gilham’s race car back on the track.
