Porsche Rohler Performance Parts

By Tom on Tuesday, August 17, 2021

Porsches have been around in motorsports since the 1950s, blending together power, class and success on tracks internationally. Early achievement in the Targa Florio and Carrera Panamericana even went on to be celebrated when models were later named after them (shown in both the Porsche Targa and Porsche Carrera ranges).

Porsche’s first golden years came in the 60s and 70s, notably with the 911 Carrera RS and the Porsche 935 Turbo. Ever since then, it comes as no surprise that Porsche is now the largest racing car manufacturer – with decades of experience and success under dozens of models, and subsequent drivers, seatbelts.

Porsche regards racing as pivotal to their line of cars, and with their long list of dominant racing models, you should come to expect your parts to be manufactured and held up to the same standard.

This is especially true when out on the track, as you want to maximise your performance return from your Porsche with the properly equipped parts.

Whether it be engine valve covers or gearbox mounts for the 986 or Cayman (a full list of Rohler parts and what car models they are compatible with can be found here), we have created the Rohler performance range that guarantees assured performance for the track (or street), seamless integration and the highest quality; after all, if there’s one thing we know – it’s Porsches.

Stunting performance and handling, Porsches are internationally recognised on tracks.

Why should I be considering the Rohler range?

In the same way that you need to know what’s going into your body, you also need to know what’s going into your Porsche; particularly if you’re looking to get the highest output return, while not compromising reliability.

Porsches are often acclaimed for their trustworthiness over long periods (of course, not to mention their performance as sports cars), but the reality is that if you’re feeding your model parts that aren’t tailored and tweaked to work in perfect unison with other components or you’re compromising on the quality of your parts, the reliability and performance of your Porsche will dwindle.

The Rohler range is specifically composed of parts that we’re proud of – no, genuinely. Compromise is not a word in our vocabulary here so expect the highest quality – we always hold our parts to the highest standard possible, and this tailored collection is no different.

Let us play our role in getting your Porsche to reach its potential while keeping it in the best shape possible, so it can still run like the first day you got to rev the engine, or even better.

Countless drivers trust our performance parts to maximise their output.

Okay, okay – tell me more about the parts in the Rohler range

You don’t have to tell us twice. Let’s take a more detailed delve into what’s available, together.

Engine valve covers Upper/Lower

A valve cover can be found at the top of your engine, which, in turn, protects against any oil spillages. These covers can be taken off, so you, or a third-party, can get to the valves for changes.

As you can imagine, engines have a tendency of becoming a little hot. When this happens the valve, or gasket, can become extremely weak and eventually collapse.

It’s very important to get an early diagnosis in this case, as leaking oil will seep into the engine and can cause lasting engine damage, especially if the car is still being run.

Some warning signs to look out for in this instance are leaking oil, the smell of burning (or burning oil specifically), having your engine misfire, having low oil levels among others.

Therefore, it’s only right that we offer you the best available protection.

These fully CNC machined valve covers (upper and lower, respectively) are a direct bolt-on replacement for your fragile leaking factory covers and are machined to accept the reusable OEM gaskets (available separately).

With the corrosion-resistant finish, chamfered edges, and tight gasket fitment, these valve covers are simply the best on the marke – offering you safety and optimisation on the track.

These fit the Porsche 964 1989-94.

Engine camshaft covers

Similarly to the above, but this time a different solution to a different model, these engine camshaft covers prove to be a permanent solution to leak-prone Porsche 993 factory plastic lower or upper valve covers.

Our replacement racing 993 lower or upper valve covers are precision-machined from aircraft-grade aluminium billet.

These covers permanently correct the problem and help your engine run cooler by dissipating engine heat more efficiently due to their aluminium composition and finned surfaces.

As stated above, this part fits the Porsche 993 1994-98 but also the Porsche 993 Turbo.

Performance engine mounts

The engine mount is responsible for holding your engine in place.

Engine mounts can actually go the whole nine yards and be functioning throughout your car’s lifespan (although typically there can be issues as the years rack on).

Pretty self-explanatory, right? So why are they so important and why are Rohler parts more beneficial than your factory standard? Well, engine mounts play a pivotal role in the handling of any car, as they’re responsible for minimising engine vibration.

Replacing your factory engine mounts with these performance semi-solid mounts will dramatically decrease engine movement which then will result in better acceleration and handling of your Porsche; there’s no need to mention why this is a critical part in a high intensity, performance setting.

CNC machined mounts with PU bushes are an absolute must-have for any car that is on the track or on the street. Not to mention they’re very easy to replace by experienced DIYers.

As we said, only the best parts for performance.

This part fits the Porsche 996 C2, Porsche 996 C4, Porsche 996 C4S, Porsche 996 Turbo, Porsche 996 GT2, Porsche 996 GT3 as well as the Porsche 997 C2, Porsche 997 C2s, Porsche 997 C4, Porsche 997 C4s, Porsche 997 Turbo, Porsche 997 GT2, Porsche 997 GT3

Underdrive crankshaft pulley (with A/C)

Underdrive pulleys are an old-school piece of kit. Mainly found on street rods, even halfway into the last century (coincidentally around the same time Porsches were introduced to motor racing), to get the most possible power out of a car.

They encourage certain components to work at a slower rate due to their comparatively bigger diameter. Not only this but they’re seen as extremely economical when it comes to an increase in power, performance and horsepower.

Despite this, like most things, there are both pros and cons. Some of these cons are things such as potential temperature increase and a faster draining battery – although a list of both good and bad is readily available online to be researched.

If you decide that an underdrive crankshaft pulley is right for you, this under drive crankshaft pulley (with A/C) kit is the perfect addition to your Porsche. It includes a pulley, drive belt and new bolt. The pulley is made from 6061-T6 aluminium – it improves horsepower and torque while reducing parasitic drag from the alternator, power steering pump and water pump; pushing your performance to the max.

This part fits the Porsche 986 Boxster, 1997-1999 2.5L H6, 2000-2004 2.7L H6, 2000-2004 S 3.2L H6, 986 Spec Boxster Legal, Porsche 987 Boxster / Cayman, 2005-, 2.7L H6, 2005-2006 3.2L H6, 2007- 3.4L H6, Porsche 996 / 997, 1999 3.4L H6 NA, 2001-2004 3.6L H6 NA, 2005- 3.6L H6 NA

It will not work on 3.8L (S) or Turbo models.

An installation guide can also be found here.

Deep Sump Track Oil Pan Kit

An oil pan is a piece of metal that is found over the bottom of the engine – its primary function is to store oil when not needed, but also plays a role in keeping said oil cool. When the engine is in use, an oil pump will take oil from the pan to spread it over different components of a vehicle – keeping those parts from getting stiff.

Sounds pretty unimportant, right? But in reality, your choice of oil pan can have a pretty profound effect on the performance of the engine in your Porsche, or car in general.

Having said that, scavenging and aeration in the oil pan have been identified as a problem in the 996, 997 and Boxster models that experience high G-forces on the racetrack.

Therefore, the Motorsports 2 Quart Deep Sump Oil Pan Kit for all 986/996/987/997 Porsche’s (excluding GT3, GT2 Turbo and DFI models) is a deep sump kit that acts as an extension added to the original oil pan, increasing oil capacity by 2 quarts, helping with oil starvation problems these vehicles commonly have – which thus gives you a better performance outlook.

This part is made for the Boxster, Cayman, 996 and 997 models (however, it excludes GT3 and turbocharged models).

Connecting Con Rods

A con rod, or connecting rod, is the bridge between the piston and the crankshaft – helping the movement of the piston be transferred to the crankshaft. Essentially, it carries power between the two parts in tandem (it also helps oil move to cylinder walls, as well as to the wrist or gudgeon pin). They’re typically found in internal combustion engines (but not exclusively).

Con rods can be found made of different materials, which are separated into categories of billet, cast or forged.

Our set of 6 connecting con rods are made of Forged 4343 material, with a 3/8 bolt and PRO-H style. Forged conrods are strong in comparison to other types and are also reliable – perfect for a track or street environment.

This part fits the Porsche Boxster 986 2.5L 1997-99, Porsche Boxster 986 2.7L 1999-02, Porsche Boxster S 986 3.2L 1999-02, Porsche Boxster 986 2.7L 2003-04, Porsche Boxster S 986 3.2L 2003-04, Porsche Boxster 987 2.7L 2005 -08/08, Porsche Boxster 987 3.2/3.4L 2005-08/08, Porsche 996 C2 3.4L 1997-08/01, Porsche 996 C4 3.4L 1997-08/01, Porsche Cayman 2.7L 987C 2006-08 and Porsche Cayman S 3.4L 987C 2005-08.
