The Fabspeed Porsche 987 Boxster / Cayman XperTune Performance Software is a specialist ECU tuning upgrade developed for Porsche 987.1 Boxster and Cayman models manufactured between 2005 and 2008.

Designed by Fabspeed Motorsport, this performance software enhances the naturally aspirated Porsche flat-six engine by optimising the factory engine management calibration to improve horsepower, torque, throttle response and overall driving characteristics.

The XperTune system provides a convenient method of upgrading the vehicle's Engine Control Unit (ECU) using a supplied handheld tuning device connected through the vehicle's OBD-II diagnostic port.

Unlike traditional ECU remapping methods that may require the ECU to be removed and sent away for programming, Fabspeed's handheld system allows the vehicle's original calibration to be read and a customised performance tune to be installed without removing the ECU.

The software is developed for Porsche 987 Boxster and Cayman models equipped with 2.7L, 3.2L and 3.4L naturally aspirated engines.

Fabspeed advertises performance improvements of approximately 15 horsepower and 11–15 lb-ft of torque, depending on the engine version.

By revising suitable engine management parameters, the calibration is designed to produce a more responsive accelerator feel, stronger performance characteristics and a more engaging driving experience while maintaining everyday usability.
