OE Match replacement water pump with gasket for selected Porsche 997 Turbo, GT2, GT3, GT3 RS and GT3 4.0 models. It circulates coolant through the engine and radiator to help maintain the correct operating temperature.

Fits:
Porsche 997 Turbo / GT2 2007 - 2009
Porsche 997 GT3 / GT3 RS / GT3 4.0 2007 - 2012
Porsche 997.2 Turbo 2010-11 (3.6L M97.70 engines)

What This Product Does

The water pump provides the mechanical circulation required to move coolant around the engine, radiator and associated cooling-system passages. The supplied gasket seals the pump at its mounting surface when correctly installed.

Functions

  • Circulates coolant through the engine cooling system
  • Supports stable engine temperature control
  • Transfers heated coolant towards the radiator
  • Maintains coolant movement at different engine speeds

Symptoms of Fault

  • Coolant leakage or dried residue around the pump housing
  • Whining, grinding or rumbling from the pump bearing
  • Play or wobble at the water-pump pulley
  • Repeated low-coolant warnings
  • Rising or fluctuating engine temperature
  • Reduced cabin heating caused by poor coolant circulation
  • Coolant smell after driving

Why Replacement Matters

A leaking, noisy or inefficient water pump can reduce coolant circulation and increase the risk of overheating. Replacement restores the pump and mounting seal as part of a correctly maintained cooling system. The thermostat, drive belt, coolant condition and nearby hoses should also be inspected while access is available.

FAQs

  • Does a failing water pump always leak?
No. Bearing wear or reduced coolant flow may develop before an external leak becomes visible.
  • Can thermostat problems cause similar symptoms?
Yes. A faulty thermostat, trapped air, restricted radiator or cooling-fan issue can also cause temperature fluctuations.
  • How can the fault be confirmed?
Inspect the pump for residue, wetness, bearing noise and pulley play. Cooling-system pressure and temperature testing may be required.
  • Should the cooling system be checked after installation?
Yes. The system must be refilled with the correct coolant mixture, bled correctly and checked for leaks.
