Our new, Gen 2 fresh air blower assembly for Porsche 911 models is designed to replace the ancient and noisy original fresh air blower.
As with all Classic Retrofit products, it fits straight into the car without modification, using the original electrical plug and Bowden cable work.
It is true plug and play.
Internally, the blower unit uses a modern double-cage fan which can move more air than the original. The real game changer is that it incorporates a modern parallel flow evaporator.
This allows a 911 with our A/C to get rid of the clunky separate A/C blower in the smuggler's box (LHD) or behind the passenger footboard (RHD). Two blowers are integrated into one modern unit, saving weight and space.
You can pair this blower with a traditional A/C system or if you want to join the electric A/C revolution, try our complete electric kit.
- Replaces original fresh air blower
- Double cage fan
- Parallel flow evaporator
- Recirculation function
- Plug and play electrical connector and Bowden cable

Porsche Blower Motors & Fans | Reliable Cabin Ventilation & Climate Control Efficiency
Blower motors and fans are the heart of your Porsche’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. They circulate air through the cabin, heater core, and evaporator, providing consistent airflow for cooling, heating, and defogging. A properly functioning blower motor ensures efficient temperature control and optimal comfort in every driving condition.
At Design911, we supply high-quality blower motors and fan assemblies that meet or exceed original engineering standards. Built from durable, heat-resistant materials and precision-balanced components, our blowers deliver smooth, quiet operation and long-lasting reliability.
Whether you’re restoring your Porsche’s HVAC system or replacing a failed motor, our blower fans guarantee efficient airflow and dependable cabin comfort.
What Do Blower Motors & Fans Do?
The blower motor drives the fan that moves air through the vehicle’s heating and cooling ducts. It plays a key role in maintaining interior comfort and clear visibility.
Core Functions:
- Circulates air through the A/C evaporator or heater core.
- Provides consistent airflow to the cabin vents and windscreen.
- Ensures proper climate control response for temperature and defrost settings.
- Operates at variable speeds for balanced airflow.
- Supports both manual and automatic climate systems.
Without an effective blower motor, airflow weakens or stops completely, leading to poor heating, weak A/C performance, or foggy windows.
Why Do Blower Motors & Fans Fail or Wear Out?
Because they operate constantly, blower motors are exposed to vibration, dust, and temperature extremes — all of which can cause wear or electrical issues over time.
Common Causes of Failure Include:
- Worn brushes or bearings causing noise or slow operation.
- Electrical motor failure due to overheating.
- Blower fan obstruction from debris or contamination.
- Faulty resistors or connectors disrupting power supply.
- Moisture ingress causing corrosion or electrical shorting.
When a blower motor begins to fail, symptoms may include inconsistent airflow, noise from behind the dashboard, or total loss of air circulation.
Why Replace Your Porsche Blower Motor or Fan Assembly?
Replacing a failing blower motor restores effective ventilation and ensures the HVAC system performs efficiently. Upgraded components also offer improved reliability, quieter operation, and better heat or A/C distribution.
Key Benefits:
- Restores strong, consistent airflow for heating and cooling.
- Prevents fogging and maintains cabin comfort.
- Reduces noise and vibration from worn components.
- Improves HVAC efficiency and system response.
- Designed for Porsche 911, Cayman, Boxster, Panamera, Macan, and classic models.
- Ideal for restorations, regular servicing, or climate control upgrades.
It’s recommended to replace the blower resistor or fan speed control module at the same time to ensure balanced performance.
