Fuel rails / regulators
Fits:
Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera - 1984 to 1989
Porsche 928 - 1980 to 1986 (non CIS)
Replaces Bosch 0280160262, 0280160232, 0280160215, Porsche 92811019802, 92811019801, 92811019800, 92811019826 (2.5 Bar no vacuum line connected)
Most of these regulators are original and now nearly 40 years old so they are prone to leak or fail causing all sorts of running and tuning issues. They are easy to replace, albeit a little bit fiddly being at the front of the manifold for the 3.2ltr engine. To suit the lower operating fuel pressure of the 3.2 Motronic, we use an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. This simple and elegant design uses steel O-Ring boss sealing adapters to the manifold.
Easily replaceable fuel pressure regulator.
Spare outlet for fuel pressure gauge or sensor.
The adjustable fuel pressure regulator has been tested with Bosch 044 fuel pumps, but the upper limit of fuel flow rate has not been tested.
Kit Includes:
- Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera / early 928 (non CIS) OEM fitting kit - SPA adjustable fuel pressure regulator
- Fuel pressure regulator body x 1
- 2.0 to 5.0 adjustable fuel pressure regulator instead of fixed regulator x 1
- Adapter fittings to fit OEM hose and fuel rail ends x 2
- Hose Tail fitting to fit factory return line x 1
- ORB Plug x 1
This kit must use the adjustable fuel pressure regulator as Bosch does not produce a standard 2.5bar pressure regulator in this form.
Please Note
Other fittings and options such as fuel pressure sensors, or fuel pressure gauges available upon request.
We have also developed fuel pressure dampers for the 3.2 and 928 engines, check out our site for the product details.
The fuel pressure regulator needs to be adjusted and set on the car after installation to ensure the operating conditions meet the factory specifications. A fuel pressure gauge and fittings to adapt to the factory fuel rails is required to be able to complete this procedure. The regulators are not shipped pre-set to the 2.5bar operating pressure.
We can also provide a solution for early 944 replacing Porsche part number 94411019801, Bosch part number 0280160214,

The Adapt Motorsport Advanced Fuel Rail Kit combines fuel distribution, Bosch pressure regulation and pulse damping for Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 applications. It is offered in single- and dual-regulator configurations for custom fuel-system installations.
Fits:
- Porsche 911 1984-1986 3.2L
- Porsche 911 1987-1989 3.2L G50
What This Product Does
Opening and closing fuel injectors generate pressure pulses within the fuel circuit. The integrated damper helps control these fluctuations, while the replaceable Bosch module regulates rail pressure. Combining these components within the rail reduces the need to mount separate regulator and damper units, simplifying the number of hoses and connections required.
Functions
- Distributes fuel between the engine injectors
- Controls rail pressure through a replaceable Bosch regulator module
- Helps suppress pressure pulses created by injector operation
- Reduces the number of external fittings and potential leakage points
- Allows the fuel-hose layout to be tailored to the installation
Technical Details
- Available for Carrera 3.2 manifolds
- Supplied with a 3.8-bar regulator.
- Single version pairs one regulator-and-damper rail with one conventional fuel rail
- Dual version uses two rails, each incorporating its own regulator and damper
- Rated regulator flow is 200 lph per module, giving a combined 400 lph with the dual arrangement
- ORB ports use O-ring seals; AN6 JIC unions and end plugs are included, with fasteners and manifold adapters supplied for the Carrera 3.2 option
Why Replacement Matters
This kit is intended for bespoke or upgraded fuel systems where integrated pressure management can make the installation more compact and easier to service. The Bosch modules can be removed independently, allowing a worn regulator to be renewed or the pressure specification to be changed without replacing the complete rail.
Installation Notes
- Bespoke fuel hoses must be made to suit the vehicle and selected configuration
- The dual-regulator layout requires additional hose routing compared with the single version
- Each regulator is limited to 200 lph; a Bosch 044 pump is stated at 275 lph and therefore exceeds the capacity of one regulator
- Pump output, injector requirements and regulator capacity must be considered together when specifying the complete system
FAQs
- Is the pressure regulator serviceable?
Yes. The rail accepts replaceable Bosch regulator modules, so the module can be renewed separately. - How do the two kit layouts differ?
The single arrangement includes one integrated rail and one standard rail. The dual arrangement employs two integrated rails for a combined regulator rating of 400 lph. - Will the original fuel hoses fit?
No. Custom hoses are necessary for installation. - Can a different operating pressure be selected?
Yes. The normal specification is 3.8 bar, with regulator options stated from 3.0 to 4.0 bar.
Check fitment for your specific vehicle, engine and planned fuel-system configuration before ordering.
