Stabilizer Bar Drop Link Bushing Spacer Tube, Front.
The OE Match Front Stabilizer Bar Drop Link Bushing Spacer Tube is a replacement metal spacer used within the front anti-roll bar drop link bushing assembly on classic Porsche 911, 912 and 914 models.

Fits:
  • Porsche 911 1965-1968 2.0L / 912 SWB (F)
  • Porsche 911 1968-1973 2.2L / 2.4L / 2.7L RS LWB (F)
  • Porsche 914 (1970-1976)

Diagram Ref No 34

Positioned inside the drop link bush, the spacer tube helps maintain the correct distance and alignment of the mounting assembly when the fixing hardware is tightened. It prevents the rubber bush from being excessively compressed while providing a stable internal support for the anti-roll bar connection.

This small but important suspension component is ideal for replacing an original spacer that has become corroded, worn, distorted or lost during suspension refurbishment.

What This Product Does:
The front stabilizer bar, also known as the anti-roll bar, helps control body roll by transferring suspension forces between the left and right sides of the vehicle.

The drop links connect the stabilizer bar to the suspension, while the spacer tube sits within the drop link bushing and helps the mounting assembly operate correctly.

Its functions include:

  • Supporting the front stabilizer bar drop link bush
  • Maintaining the correct spacing within the mounting assembly
  • Preventing excessive compression of the rubber bushing
  • Helping keep the drop link correctly aligned
  • Providing a solid surface for the mounting hardware to tighten against
  • Helping the bush articulate correctly as the suspension moves
  • Reducing unwanted movement within the anti-roll bar connection
  • Supporting consistent and predictable suspension behaviour

Four spacer tubes are typically required per vehicle, with two used at each drop link.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Spacer tubes are subjected to repeated suspension loads, vibration, moisture and road contamination. Over time, the original metal components can corrode or become damaged.

Possible signs that the spacer tube or associated drop link assembly requires attention include:

  • Visible rust or heavy corrosion
  • Pitting or loss of metal around the spacer
  • Bent, crushed or distorted spacer tube
  • Excessive play in the front anti-roll bar drop link
  • Bushings appearing excessively compressed or deformed
  • Loose stabilizer bar mounting hardware
  • Knocking or clunking noises from the front suspension
  • Rattling when driving over uneven road surfaces
  • Increased or inconsistent body roll
  • Less precise handling during cornering
  • Uneven movement of the drop link assembly
  • Damage found during anti-roll bar bush replacement or suspension restoration

Because several components work together in the drop link assembly, the rubber bushes, bolts, washers and drop links should also be inspected whenever the spacer tubes are replaced.

Why Replacement Matters:

  • The spacer tube helps establish the correct clamping distance within the drop link bushing assembly. If it becomes badly corroded, crushed or distorted, the bush may no longer be held at the correct compression.
  • Excessive bushing compression can restrict normal movement and accelerate rubber deterioration, while insufficient support can introduce unwanted clearance and movement into the anti-roll bar connection.
  • Wear within the drop link assembly can lead to knocking noises and reduce the effectiveness of the stabilizer bar, which may contribute to increased body roll and less predictable handling.
  • Replacing damaged spacer tubes helps restore the correct mounting geometry, supports proper bushing operation and ensures that the anti-roll bar can transfer suspension forces effectively.
  • For classic Porsche suspension restoration, replacing corroded spacer tubes together with ageing drop link bushes is also a sensible way to restore the complete mounting assembly rather than reusing deteriorated original hardware.

For Retro-Fitting the Through Body Anti Roll Bar

Required for Adjustable sway bars when installed on cars not originally equipped with a through body sway bar. These plates fit to the back side of the wheel well and distribute the sway bar load to prevent tearing.

When installing many thru-body type front sway bars onto cars originally equipped with an under-body type sway bar. U tabs are welded to stock control arms in place of the 'loop' style bushing holders used on cars originally equipped with under body type front sway bars.

• Required For Through-Body Sway bar Conversions
• Not required for Elephant Racing Blade Type Sway bars
• Welding required for proper installation

Generally required for all 911/912/914/930 from 1974-1989 with A arm mounted anti roll bars

About Drop Links & Bushes FRONT

Porsche Front Anti-Roll Bar Drop Links & Bushes | Design911 Suspension Components for Precision Handling & Stability

Front anti-roll bar drop links and bushes play a critical role in connecting your Porsche’s suspension system to the anti-roll bar, ensuring stability, grip, and control during cornering. They help transfer forces evenly between both sides of the suspension, reducing body roll and maintaining a flat, stable stance. When in good condition, these components enhance steering precision and give your Porsche the balanced, responsive handling it’s renowned for.

At Design911, we stock a wide selection of front anti-roll bar drop links and bushes, engineered for strength, durability, and accuracy. Manufactured from high-quality steel, alloy, or polyurethane materials, these components are designed to withstand the high cornering forces and performance demands typical of Porsche vehicles. Ideal for suspension servicing, upgrades, or restorations, our range ensures superior road feedback, improved stability, and long-term reliability.

What Do Front Anti-Roll Bar Drop Links & Bushes Do?

These suspension components connect the anti-roll bar to the control arms and chassis, allowing the suspension to move freely while controlling body roll.

Core Functions:
• Transfer suspension load from the wheels to the anti-roll bar.
• Reduce chassis roll for flatter, more stable cornering.
• Maintain consistent tyre contact and traction.
• Enhance steering response and driver confidence.
• Minimise noise, vibration, and harshness from suspension movement.

High-quality drop links and bushes ensure predictable handling, making them essential for both spirited driving and everyday comfort.

Why Do Front Anti-Roll Bar Drop Links & Bushes Fail or Degrade?

Drop links and bushes are constantly exposed to movement, pressure, and environmental factors, which cause gradual wear and performance loss over time.

Common Causes of Failure Include:
• Worn or split rubber bushes leading to excess movement.
• Corrosion or fatigue in metal link rods.
• Perished rubber or degraded polyurethane mounts.
• Loose fittings causing knocking or vibration.
• Exposure to heat, moisture, and debris accelerating wear.

When these parts deteriorate, handling can feel vague, unstable, or noisy — reducing both comfort and driver control.

Why Replace or Upgrade Your Porsche Front Anti-Roll Bar Drop Links & Bushes?

Replacing worn components restores steering precision, stability, and overall driving confidence. Upgrading to performance-spec materials, such as polyurethane or reinforced links, further enhances responsiveness and durability.

Key Benefits:
• Restores handling balance and steering accuracy.
• Reduces body roll and suspension noise.
• Improves road grip and chassis feedback.
• Available in standard and performance-grade designs.
• Fits Porsche 911, 944, 968, Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, and Macan models.
• Ideal for restorations, servicing, or performance suspension upgrades.

Design911’s Porsche front anti-roll bar drop links and bushes provide the precision, strength, and reliability needed to keep your Porsche’s handling sharp and responsive under all conditions.

Highlights

• Premium Porsche front anti-roll bar links and bushes.
• Precision-engineered for superior fitment and handling.
