Manufactured from high-quality corrosion-resistant metal, the vent valve (bleed screw) provides a secure seal during normal operation while allowing controlled release of air and brake fluid during brake bleeding procedures. Its precision-machined design ensures reliable sealing under the high hydraulic pressures generated within the braking system.
What This Product Does:
- Allows air to be removed from the brake hydraulic system.
- Facilitates brake bleeding and maintenance procedures.
- Ensures proper hydraulic pressure within the brake caliper.
- Helps maintain a firm and responsive brake pedal feel.
- Provides a secure seal during normal brake operation.
- Supports safe and efficient braking performance.
- Prevents hydraulic pressure loss when correctly installed.
- Forms an essential part of the brake caliper assembly.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Brake fluid leaks around the bleed valve.
- Soft or spongy brake pedal feel.
- Difficulty bleeding the braking system.
- Rounded, seized or damaged bleed screw head.
- Corrosion around the vent valve.
- Air repeatedly entering the hydraulic system.
- Reduced braking performance.
- Fluid seepage from the caliper.
- Inability to properly seal after servicing.
- Brake warning indications due to fluid loss.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Brake vent valves are exposed to moisture, road salt, dirt, heat cycles and repeated servicing throughout their lifespan. Over time, corrosion can cause the valve to seize, while damaged threads or sealing surfaces may allow brake fluid leaks or air ingress into the hydraulic system.
- A faulty vent valve can compromise the effectiveness of brake bleeding procedures, resulting in trapped air within the hydraulic circuit and a reduction in braking performance. Even minor fluid leaks can lead to pressure loss, reduced braking efficiency and increased safety risks.
- Replacing a worn or damaged vent valve restores proper sealing and ensures the braking system can be correctly maintained. A genuine Porsche replacement provides factory-correct fitment, dependable sealing performance and long-term durability, helping preserve the safety, reliability and braking performance expected from your Porsche.

Porsche Brake Calipers | Design911 Precision Replacement & Performance Upgrades for Stopping Power & Control
Brake calipers are a vital part of your Porsche’s braking system — responsible for clamping the brake pads against the disc to create friction and slow the car safely and efficiently. They play a key role in delivering the sharp, responsive braking feel Porsche is renowned for. Whether you’re restoring a classic model or enhancing a modern performance car, maintaining or upgrading your calipers ensures consistent stopping power and driving confidence.
At Design911, we offer a wide selection of brake calipers engineered for precision performance, exact fitment, and long-term reliability. Each caliper is designed using high-quality materials to provide superior heat dissipation, even pressure distribution, and enhanced braking control. Ideal for road, track, or restoration projects, our calipers deliver the perfect blend of safety, strength, and Porsche performance heritage.
What Do Brake Calipers Do?
Brake calipers are the heart of the braking system, converting hydraulic pressure into mechanical force to bring your Porsche to a controlled stop.
Core Functions:
• Apply pressure to the brake pads for effective friction and deceleration.
• Ensure even braking force across each wheel.
• Maintain consistent braking feel and performance under heat and load.
• Work with brake discs and pads to optimise stopping distance.
• Provide responsiveness and control during aggressive driving or track use.
A well-functioning brake caliper guarantees stability, safety, and precision every time you hit the brakes.
Why Do Brake Calipers Fail or Degrade?
Over time, brake calipers are exposed to extreme heat, pressure, and environmental conditions — all of which can cause performance degradation or mechanical failure.
Common Causes of Failure Include:
• Corrosion or rust on pistons and seals.
• Leaking hydraulic fluid from worn seals or connections.
• Uneven brake pad wear due to sticking pistons.
• Fading performance from heat saturation and lack of maintenance.
• Physical damage from impact or excessive vibration.
When calipers fail, braking performance becomes inconsistent or unsafe — making replacement or refurbishment essential for maintaining control and confidence.
Why Replace or Upgrade Your Porsche Brake Calipers?
Replacing old or worn brake calipers restores your Porsche’s braking precision and safety. Upgrading to performance calipers can further enhance stopping power, consistency, and resistance to brake fade. Design911 offers options tailored for both daily driving and motorsport use.
