The Porsche 993 Turbo Internal Wastegate Actuator (IWG) provides better turbo response and greater sensitivity when managing boost pressures. Designed as a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory part, the Porsche IWG is easy to install and requires no special tools or fabrication. We've taken the proven technology from our WG38, 40 and 45mm External Wastegates and applied it to the Internal Wastegate Actuator.

The DesignTek Stage 1 turbocharger upgrade service converts customer-supplied Porsche 993 911 GT2 turbochargers to MD422 & MD423 hybrid specification. No complete replacement turbochargers are included.

How the Service Works

Submit your existing turbochargers for modification. Alternatively, obtain new units independently and arrange their conversion as a separate service; purchasing turbochargers does not include upgrade work.

Symptoms of Fault

Investigate unusual whining, exhaust smoke, increased oil consumption, delayed boost delivery or oil leakage before submitting units. These symptoms alone do not establish that turbocharger modification is appropriate.

Why Replacement Matters

An upgrade cannot correct an unresolved mechanical defect. Assess engine condition, oil supply, boost pipework and seals first, and review the engine-management requirements alongside any supporting modifications.

TTE800 upgrade turbocharger for Porsche 993 / 996

Introducing our TTE800 upgrade performance turbochargers based on the original K24 turbochargers to new higher output specification. Offering an upgrade to over 800PS.

Engineered & Enhanced

At the core of our TTE800 upgrade stage is a much larger TTE compressor wheel, chosen because it is highly efficient and creates an extremely high flow for comparative size. Re-Profiled compressor cover to optimised tolerance to ensure maximum compressor efficiency is given.


We CNC mill the exhaust turbine housing to accept a larger 9 blade turbine and shaft.

Special profile 360 deg high-performance motorsport journal bearing is fitted, to remain durable at higher loads with no loss in transient response. The actuator used is sprung OE unit set at 0.8bar crack pressure(1.0bar if wanted)

Equilibrium:

Precisely balancing our turbochargers is a key critical factor to become a TTE upgrade unit as longevity and performance are paramount. Good balance improves acoustics also. Subsequent great care is taken with all TTE turbochargers to achieving our balance standards. Firstly parts are balanced at slow speeds up to 2800RPM in multiple planes using our single parts machine, then components are assembled and then the CHRA are dynamically balanced, but this time depending on application at up to 250,000 RPM in multiple planes using our in-house VSR machine to acquire the ultimate equilibrium, to a standard far higher than OEM. Each turbocharger is supplied with a serial numbered balance test result document.

These pair of replacement actuators, for the Porsche 993 Turbo , utilise the latest design to eradicate the failures often associated with the original actuators and are supplied complete with brackets ready to install. This product is assembled with springs suitable for at or slightly above factory boost levels.



This item comes with stock springs 5 psi (spool up) - 10 psi (running pressure) Green Springs product code FMAS049G. Additional springs are required for tuning to custom boost levels.

High flow GT series 6 blade compressor wheel - CNC re-profiled compressor housing - 360 degree thrust bearing – left & right hand thread shaft & wheel, twin high temperature exhaust piston ring seals fitted.

These turbos are a direct installation in replacement of your factory turbos. K24 turbos are much larger then the factory K16 turbos found on the standard 993TT. The K24 Turbos can handle over 550 crank horsepower. Unlike most turbos on other vehicles, you will not sacrifice low end horsepower or torque, however gain a larger amount in the mid range and top end.
