Adjustable caster arms with anti-dive and anti-squat.

elephantracing

Fits
Porsche 986 Boxster - Front Only
Porsche 987 Boxster and Cayman - Front Only
Porsche 996 - Front and Rear
Porsche 997 - Front and Rear

Set of 2 x Adjustable caster arms - 1 pair, required per axle

Elephant Racing caster arms provide adjustable caster and anti-dive ability when used on the front, and adjustable wheel base, weight distribution, and anti-squat when used on the rear.

Front Suspension

Threaded double-adjuster makes it easy to extend or shorten the arm.

This makes for easy caster adjustment – an important adjustment the factory left out. A must-have for cars with GT3 style extendable style lower control arms to correct for un-intended caster increase that is caused by the extended LCAs.

Anti-dive behavior can also be adjusted. Lowering the front of the arm using the provided spacers reduces front dive under braking. Adjustable in 2mm increments.

Rear Suspension

Adjustable Caster Arms can reduce rear overhang and rear weight bias. A must-have for cars with GT3 style extendable style lower control arms. Adjust the length of the caster arms to correct the position of the rear wheels that have been drawn forward by aggressive camber settings. Even over-compensate for less rear weight bias than stock.

With the heavy mass of the engine cantilevered behind the rear axle, even small changes in wheel base make significant changes in weight distribution. Shortening the overhang reduces the famous 911 "pendulum" effect in corners.

Anti-squat behavior can also be adjusted. Raising the front of the caster arm using the provided spacers reduces rear squat under acceleration. Adjustable in 2mm increments.

Fully weather sealed> – Proper boots at the heim joint keep water and contaminant out for extended life.

If not using Adjustable Lower Control Arms

1999-2012 996, Boxster, Cayman, & GT3 Front: Bolt on if replacing the lower control arm central bushing with 2290022 / 2290014 rubber bushings, or our 2180011 camber adjusters.

1999-2012 996, 997 & GT3 Rear: Straight bolt on.

2006-2018 997, Boxster, Cayman, & 991 Front: Requires fitment of our part number 2290022 or 2290014 LCA central bushings or 2180011 solid caster bushing kit

Caster Tuning
Our Caster Adjuster allows you to tune this important setting that the factory left out. A must-have for cars that have extended lower control arms (GT3 control arms or eccentric monoballs) to correct for un-intended caster change that is caused by the extended arms.

Caster is also a great tuning aid for adjusting out understeer. Our Caster Adjusters let you tune the caster you need.

Two eccentric mounting points increase range of adjustment by up to 25mm. Choose from the inner bore for minor caster adjustments or the outer bore for extreme adjustments.

Rear Weight Bias
For the rear suspension, our Caster Adjuster can reduce rear overhang and rear weight bias. Cars with aggressive rear camber actually draw the wheels forward, increasing rear weight bias. Use our Caster Adjuster to compensate and even over-compensate for less rear weight bias than stock

Maintain Proper Alignment
Our Caster Adjuster is solid aluminum to hold alignment settings precisely. Stock rubber bushings compress under load, allowing alignment to wander and making the car less predictable. Our solid design eliminates compression, improves precision and maintains geometry true.

Functional Design Built To Last
Available for factory type lower control arms (wishbones) front and rear, including stock type arms and GT3 arms

About Control Arms Rear

Rear Control Arms (Coffin Arms) – Stability, Alignment and Rear-End Control

Rear control arms, commonly referred to as coffin arms, are critical suspension components responsible for controlling rear wheel alignment, stability and handling balance. Mounted between the rear hub and chassis, these arms manage camber and toe movement as the suspension compresses and extends, directly affecting traction, tyre wear and overall vehicle confidence.

At Design911, we supply OE replacement and performance rear coffin arms from trusted suspension manufacturers. Whether you are addressing worn factory components or upgrading for fast-road and track use, rear control arms play a vital role in maintaining predictable handling and restoring proper suspension geometry.

What Do Rear Control Arms (Coffin Arms) Do?

Rear control arms locate the rear wheels and guide their movement through suspension travel. Their primary functions include:

  • Maintaining correct rear wheel camber and toe
  • Providing rear-end stability under acceleration and cornering
  • Supporting predictable handling balance
  • Reducing unwanted suspension flex

Because the rear suspension governs traction and stability, worn or flexing coffin arms can significantly affect handling feel and tyre life.

Why Upgrade or Replace Rear Coffin Arms?

Upgrading or replacing rear control arms offers:

  • Restored rear suspension geometry and alignment accuracy
  • Improved traction and stability during cornering
  • Reduced uneven tyre wear
  • Better feedback and control during spirited driving

Performance rear control arms may feature stronger materials, uprated bushes or adjustable geometry, allowing fine-tuning of rear suspension setup for performance driving or track use.

When Should You Replace Rear Control Arms?

Rear coffin arms should be replaced or upgraded when:

  • Suspension bushes are cracked, worn or noisy
  • Rear alignment cannot be set correctly
  • Handling feels unstable or unpredictable
  • Uneven rear tyre wear is present
  • Performing a suspension refresh or performance upgrade

Replacing worn rear control arms helps restore factory handling characteristics and improves overall driving confidence.

At Design911, our rear control arms meet OE or performance standards, supporting both professional servicing and enthusiast upgrades.
