What This Product Does:

• This is the structural mount that fixes the exterior mirror to the door. It provides the base / support for the mirror housing.
• It includes wiring (“wire set”), which is for controlling mirror functions: power adjustment, heating, possibly folding, indicator or puddle lights (if fitted).
• The base being “primed” means it’s raw (unpainted) but pre-surface-treated, so you can paint it to match body colour for a clean, factory finish.

Symptoms Of Damage Or When It Needs Replacement:

• Mirror is loose, wobbly, or rattles during driving, because the mount has been broken or stressed.
  
• Paint / finish damage, rust, or corrosion at the mirror base — especially where body seal meets the mount.
• Wiring issues: mirror adjustment doesn’t work, heater not working, flicker or no power to mirror functions, or electrical faults. Sometimes wiring through the mount can get kinked or worn.
• Mirror housing or glass alignment is off; mirror sits tilted or doesn’t align flush to door panel.
• After accidents or knocks: side mirror hits are common; if stem / base is cracked you may see visible damage or fatigue.
