Coolant Hoses - Engine Bay
Fits
Porsche 997 GT3
Two variants available
Coolant pipe failure is an inevitable problem with the Porsche GT1-block equipped models (GT3, GT2, Turbo).
Bonded together by adhesives, the factory pipes will eventually leak or abruptly fail. As the best preventative fix and solution for this problem, BBi Autosport offers replacement billet aluminum coolant pipes to be permanently welded in place.
Compared to the factory fittings, these replacement billet fittings offers superior metallurgy to allow stronger, higher quality welds.
Extensive surface preparation and welding skills are required to properly weld the fittings.
The engine requires removing and the necessary components disassembled and thoroughly cleaned, ideally in a ultrasonic cleaner.
Afterwards, the pipes need to be meticulously welded into place and pressure tested for leaks prior to reinstalling the engine.

Why Replacement Matters:
- Replacing a worn, leaking or damaged coolant supply hose is essential for maintaining the reliability, performance and long-term protection of your Porsche's engine cooling system.
- The engine cooling system relies on the continuous circulation of coolant through a sealed network of hoses, pipes and associated components. The coolant supply hose plays an important role by maintaining a secure connection between the water pump housing and the coolant supply pipe.
- As the original hose ages, repeated heating and cooling cycles can cause the material to lose flexibility, develop cracks or weaken around its connection points.
- Even a small coolant leak can gradually reduce the coolant level, limiting the system's ability to control engine temperature effectively.
- If the hose deteriorates further or fails suddenly under pressure, rapid coolant loss may occur, potentially resulting in engine overheating and an unexpected breakdown.
- Overheating can cause serious damage to internal engine components, including cylinder heads, gaskets and associated cooling system parts.
- A correctly fitted Genuine Porsche replacement hose helps restore the original cooling system connection, ensuring appropriate fitment, routing and sealing performance.
- Maintaining reliable engine cooling is particularly important for high-performance Porsche Turbo, GT2 and GT3 models, where the engine can experience substantial thermal loads during demanding driving conditions.
- Replacing deteriorated hoses during water pump servicing or major cooling system maintenance can also help prevent recurring leaks and reduce the likelihood of more expensive repairs.
- The genuine replacement maintains the original equipment configuration, making it suitable for Porsche owners who wish to preserve factory-standard component quality and fitment.

Technical Details
- Brand: OE Match
- Component: coolant supply hose.
- Supplied part reference: 99710674006
- Additional catalogue references: 99710674004 and 99710674005.
Symptoms of Fault
- Wetness or seepage at either connection.
- A falling coolant level or dashboard level alert.
- A sweet smell or deposits near the hose.
- Temperature readings higher than usual.
- Bulging, splits, hardened areas or unusually soft sections.
- Gurgling associated with low coolant or trapped air.
Why Replacement Matters
Repeated heating and cooling, pressure, vibration and contamination can weaken a hose over time. Renew it when inspection confirms deterioration or identifies it as the leak source. A small seep can develop into substantial fluid loss, so investigate recurring level drops rather than relying on repeated top-ups.
During related cooling repairs, inspect adjoining pipes, fittings, retainers and seals. Check the hose routing and connection security, then refill and bleed according to the vehicle-specific procedure.
FAQs
How should a suspected leak be confirmed?
A cooling-system pressure test and inspection of the hose connections can help distinguish hose leakage from nearby component faults.
Can coolant collect without leaving a puddle?
Yes. Fluid may collect on an undertray or evaporate, leaving deposits rather than obvious drips.

Coolant Hoses – Engine Bay | Reliable Cooling for Peak Porsche Performance
Coolant hoses in the engine bay are critical components that circulate coolant between the radiator, water pump, and engine block — maintaining consistent operating temperatures and preventing overheating. These hoses carry coolant through high-pressure, high-temperature zones within the engine bay, ensuring your Porsche performs at its best, even under demanding conditions.
At Design911, we stock a wide range of genuine and manufacturer-quality engine bay coolant hoses for Porsche models including 911, Boxster, Cayman. Each hose is designed to fit perfectly, resist extreme temperatures, and deliver long-lasting performance — matching the quality, precision and reliability.
What Do Engine Bay Coolant Hoses Do?
Coolant hoses form part of your Porsche’s closed-loop
cooling system. Their job is to:
- Circulate
coolant between the engine, radiator, and water pump.
- Maintain
engine temperature for optimal performance and emissions.
- Support
consistent coolant pressure during operation.
- Prevent engine overheating and protect internal components from heat damage.
In high-performance engines, such as those found in Porsche vehicles, properly functioning hoses are essential for ensuring precise temperature control and long-term mechanical integrity.
Why Do Engine Bay Coolant Hoses Fail?
Over time, coolant hoses endure constant exposure to heat,
vibration, and pressure, which can cause wear and eventual failure. Common
causes include:
- Rubber
deterioration from heat cycling and coolant chemicals.
- Cracking
or hardening due to age and environmental factors.
- Swelling
or soft spots from internal coolant corrosion.
- Leaks
at connections caused by weakened hose ends or clamps.
- Abrasion or rubbing against other engine components.
Symptoms of failure include coolant leaks, overheating, fluctuating temperature readings, or a noticeable smell of coolant in the engine bay.
Why Replace Faulty Coolant Hoses?
A damaged or leaking hose can cause rapid coolant loss and severe engine overheating. Replacing worn hoses ensures your Porsche’s cooling system functions reliably and efficiently.
Benefits of replacement include:
- Restored coolant circulation and temperature control.
- Prevention of leaks, overheating, and potential engine damage.
- Improved reliability and performance under all driving conditions.
- Manufacturer-quality construction and perfect fitment.
All hoses in this range are built using reinforced, high-grade rubber compounds designed to withstand extreme heat, pressure, and vibration — ensuring lasting durability and peace of mind.
