Charge oil cooler and pipes set
This OE Match charge air cooler and pipes set is a replacement intercooler and pressure hose kit for Porsche 971 Panamera V6 3.0L models from 2017 to 2021 with CXTA / CXT engine codes. The kit includes the charge air intercooler plus left and right charge air cooler pressure hoses, giving the key components required to restore charge air cooling and boost air flow.

Fits:
Porsche 971.1 Panamera V6 3.0L 2017 - 2021
*  with engine code: CXTA, CXT

Diagram ref no 1, 5 and 6

Kit Contents:
1 x OE Match Charge Air Intercooler (OE ref no  971145805F)
1 x OE Match Left Charge Air Cooler Pressure Hose (OE ref no  971145708BH)
1 x OE Match Right Charge Air Cooler Pressure Hose (OE ref no  971145708BE)

The charge air cooler helps reduce the temperature of compressed intake air from the turbocharging system before it enters the engine. Cooler, denser intake air supports efficient combustion, stable performance, and correct turbocharged engine operation. The left and right pressure hoses connect the charge air cooler to the intake / boost pipework, carrying pressurised air securely through the system.

Functions
•  Replaces the charge air intercooler and both pressure hoses
•  Helps cool compressed turbocharger intake air
•  Supports correct boost pressure and airflow
•  Helps maintain engine performance and throttle response
•  Replaces split, leaking, oil-soaked, or damaged boost hoses
•  Helps prevent boost leaks and charge air pressure loss
•  OE Match replacement kit for turbo intake system repair

Why Replace This Kit?
Charge air coolers and pressure hoses are exposed to boost pressure, heat, oil vapour, vibration, and engine bay movement. Over time, the intercooler can leak or become damaged, while the hoses can split, soften, swell, crack, or leak at the connections. A faulty charge air cooler or pressure hose can cause boost pressure loss, reduced performance, poor throttle response, warning lights, hissing noises, or fault codes. Replacing the intercooler and both hoses together helps restore reliable boost air sealing and efficient charge air cooling.

When to Replace This Kit
•  Boost leaks or charge pressure faults are present
•  The vehicle has reduced power or poor throttle response
•  Hissing, whistling, or air leak noises are heard under boost
•  The pressure hoses are split, cracked, swollen, or oil-soaked
•  The intercooler is leaking, damaged, or contaminated
•  Turbocharger, intake, or charge air system repairs are being carried out
•  The engine management system shows charge air or boost pressure fault codes.

Where it fits on the car
This kit fits within the charge air / turbo intake system on Porsche 971 Panamera 3.0L models. The charge air intercooler is installed in the factory intercooler position, with the left and right pressure hoses connecting to the surrounding charge air pipework according to the original Porsche layout.

About Engine Rebuild Parts

Porsche Engine Rebuild Parts

Whether you’re planning a complete Porsche engine overhaul or simply replacing a small gasket, Design911 has the right parts for the job. We stock everything from O-rings and gaskets to crankshafts and camshafts, sourced from the most reputable manufacturers including Victor Reinz, Elring, Goetze, Mahle, and Federal-Mogul.

Our catalogue covers both classic and modern Porsche engines, with components and tools designed to meet or exceed OEM specifications. From intricate timing chains and belts to major assemblies, we provide the parts you need to rebuild, refresh, or upgrade your Porsche’s engine.

Our Range of Engine Rebuild Parts

  • Gaskets, Seals & O-Rings – precision sealing for reliable performance
  • Belts & Chains – timing and auxiliary drive components
  • Cylinder Heads, Pistons & Crankshafts – core engine rebuild essentials
  • Camshafts & IMS Bearings – critical components for performance and reliability
  • Engine Mounts – replace worn mounts to reduce vibration and improve stability
  • Throttle Bodies – direct-to-head kits for 911, 964, and classic air-cooled models; improve horsepower, torque, and throttle response
  • Turbochargers & Fittings – complete kits and accessories for turbo upgrades

We also supply the tools and accessories needed for precision rebuilding, ensuring professional results whether you’re working on a home restoration or motorsport preparation.

 Common Porsche Engine Issues

Porsche engines are robust, but some models face well-known issues that require rebuild or replacement parts:

  • Excessive Engine Smoke – often caused by oil separator failure or oil overfill; a common issue in 996 and 986 models
  • IMS Bearing Failures – particularly affecting certain 996 models; early detection can save an engine, but advanced failure may require a complete rebuild
  • Timing Chain & Belt Problems – worn components can affect performance and cause catastrophic failures if neglected
  • Exhaust Leaks – damaged manifolds or gaskets allow fumes to escape, impacting performance and emissions

While some issues are minor and corrected with a single replacement part, others can escalate into major rebuilds if ignored.

Do I Need to Rebuild My Porsche Engine?

Not every problem requires a full rebuild. Regular oil changes, inspections, and routine servicing can prevent many issues. However, an engine rebuild may be required if:

  • IMS bearing failure has caused internal damage
  • Timing components have failed
  • Major wear or overheating has damaged pistons, valves, or crankshafts
  • You want to restore your engine to factory condition
  • You’re seeking performance gains beyond OEM output

Rebuilds are common across a wide range of Porsches, from air-cooled icons like the 356, 911, and 914s, through to 996, 997 GT3s, and turbocharged models. Whether for restoration or performance, rebuilding can breathe new life into your Porsche.

Why Choose Design911 for Engine Rebuild Parts?

  • Trusted Brands – Victor Reinz, Elring, Mahle, Goetze & more
  • Complete Range – from small seals to major components
  • Classic & Modern Coverage – air-cooled and water-cooled Porsche models
