992 Carrera 4S 3.0L

The 992 Carrera 4S shares the same potent 3.0ltr twin-turbo flat-six engine as its Carrera S siblings, boasting 443 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with the same eight-speed twin-clutch PDK transmission and gear ratios, the 4S distinguishes itself with an added clutch and differential upfront for all-wheel drive capability.

Porsche introduces an innovative Wet Mode as standard, enhancing safety by detecting water on the road and preparing stability control and anti-lock brake systems accordingly. Additionally, a camera-based warning and brake assist system further ensures collision avoidance.

The all-wheel-drive system of the 992 Carrera 4S sees significant enhancements, including water-cooled clutch and differential units with reinforced clutches for improved durability and load capacity. Combined with Porsche Traction Management (PTM), these enhancements optimize traction on various surfaces, from snow to wet and dry conditions.

In terms of performance, the Carrera 4S maintains impressive straight-line numbers, reaching 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds (with Sport Chrono Package) and a quarter-mile time of 11.6 seconds. While on-throttle traction benefits from all-wheel drive, enthusiasts may note a slight difference in steering feel compared to the rear-wheel-drive Carrera S.

The 992 Carrera 4S inherits the same engine as its predecessor but receives various upgrades for improved output, now delivering 443 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. The 2022 model sees an upgraded infotainment system featuring a 10.9-inch touchscreen interface, wireless Apple CarPlay, and newly added Android Auto compatibility.
