The Corteco Crankshaft Pulley Dampener is a replacement crankshaft vibration damper and pulley for compatible Porsche applications.

Mounted at the front of the crankshaft, the pulley dampener performs two important functions: it provides the drive interface for the engine's auxiliary belt system while also helping absorb and control torsional vibrations generated by the rotating crankshaft.

Unlike a conventional solid pulley, a crankshaft dampener typically incorporates a vibration-absorbing element between sections of the assembly. With age, mileage, heat and repeated engine cycles, this damping material can deteriorate, crack or separate. A failing pulley can cause excessive vibration, belt misalignment, unusual noises and potentially damage surrounding belt-driven components.

What This Product Does:
The crankshaft pulley dampener is fitted to the crankshaft and rotates whenever the engine is running.
