‘Our Visit’ is a new monthly series where we pay visits to Porsche specialists around the country and get to know them and their work on a more personal level.
This month, we visited the guys over at Cotswold Porsche, where we met Lee, the owner.
Based in the Cotswolds, you can visit their website here.
You can also get in contact with Anthony and the trade team by either calling +44 (0) 208 900 0 900 or emailing trade@design911.com.
Lee, who started Cotswold Porsche eleven years ago, is a design engineer with an obsession for Porsche who originally began the business after he took on a unit in order to store his abundance of cars.
“I’ve got too many on the driveway and my wife just said, you need to get rid of all these cars, and so I took on a unit,” Lee told us.
It was only after Lee began stripping cars and sought the assistance of a technician that the business began to snowball and its full potential was realised; within a year, Cotswold Porsche had a fully-operational workshop.
The direction of the business has broadened since its inception, moving from solely service and repair to also offering Porsches for sales – an area that Lee now focuses on.
Despite trading for over a decade, Cotswold Porsche and its crew still consider themselves enthusiasts first and business owners second.

As Lee says, “I had a technician who was brilliant, I was just lucky enough to find somebody that was probably the best technician I’ve ever met. Then his mate came along who was also a Porsche nut. We’re all Porsche enthusiasts. The three guys in the workshop love their Porsches.”
Scanning around the premises it immediately becomes evident the Cotswold workshop is filled with Porsche memorabilia, merchandise and artwork that helps to back up this claim, including a humorously hung “Keep Calm And Drive A Boxster” poster that we particularly enjoyed.
“Whether it’s a Boxster or it’s a 911 GT3, we love every car that Porsche has and we try and let that enthusiasm rub off on our customers,” Lee says, standing in front of a collection of Porsches.
With over 25 years of experience in the motor vehicle industry and three technicians in the workshop, the people at Cotswold Porsche pride themselves on their detailed knowledge of all Porsche models, old and new.

Lee explains that Rich, one of the technicians at Cotswold, has a vast amount of experience working on older Porsche models – he currently owns and works on a Porsche 914 and had a 356 before that. “I guess for Rich, working on Porsche is in his blood,” Lee says.
For Lee and the guys at Cotswold, Design 911 is the one-stop shop for their parts.
“So this is our kind of stores area,” Lee says while welcoming us into a room with shelves full of parts, “we’ve got pollen filters, air filters, brake discs, pads, coil packs, water pumps, and I’d say probably 90% is from Design 911.”

“We get things [from Design 911] the next day, it’s just a good working relationship… If we get a surprise repair, we normally have the stuff in stock and if we haven’t, it’ll be here the next day. So, yeah, we’re really grateful to Design.”
