Mike Brewer’s visit to the Design911 R&D workshop wasn’t just a tour – it was an inside look at Porsche innovation. Sam Lenton, Trade Sales Manager at Design911, guided Mike through various projects where components undergo rigorous testing before it reaches customers. First up, Mike had the chance to see a Gen 1 997 narrow body Carrera S that had been transformed into a Gen 2 997 Sport Classic, using a kit we supplied. Clearly impressed, Mike remarked, “I think turning a 997 into a Sport Classic is a utopian dream for a lot of people.” Sam added, “The main goal was to ensure all the parts fit perfectly, so buyers know they can install the kit directly onto the car without any issues.”

Testing and Innovation at the Core

Its ludicrous mannerisms, phenomenal character and outright beautiful looks make it somewhat unhinged and as exciting as cars come. Mike’s admiration was instant: “This is the ultimate Porsche for many enthusiasts.” And it’s easy to see why – the GT2 RS is sleek, agile, and engineered to dominate the track.
