Air Mass / Flow Sensor
This OE Match air mass / flow sensor is a replacement intake air measurement sensor for Porsche 911 and 964 models. This air mass / flow sensor fits in the engine intake system, positioned where it can measure incoming air before it reaches the throttle body / intake manifold. It connects to the vehicle’s engine management wiring and intake ducting according to the factory layout.

Fits:
Porsche 911 3.2L 1984 - 1989
Porsche 964 1990 - 1994

Diagram ref no 1

The air mass / flow sensor measures the volume or flow of air entering the engine intake system. This information is used by the engine control system to calculate the correct fuel delivery, helping maintain smooth running, throttle response, fuel economy, and emissions performance.

Functions
Measures incoming intake air flow
Sends air flow information to the engine management system
 Supports correct fuel mixture calculation
Helps maintain smooth idle and throttle response
Supports reliable engine performance and drivability
Replaces faulty, worn, contaminated, or failed original air flow sensors
OE Match replacement for intake and fuel injection system repair.

Why Replace This Part?
Air mass / flow sensors can fail or become inaccurate due to age, contamination, electrical faults, worn internal components, intake leaks, or long-term use. A faulty sensor may cause rough idle, hesitation, poor throttle response, flat spots, increased fuel consumption, emissions faults, difficult starting, or poor running. Replacing the sensor helps restore accurate intake air measurement and correct engine management operation.

When to Replace This Part
The engine has rough idle, hesitation, or poor throttle response
Air flow sensor fault codes or mixture faults are present
  Fuel consumption has increased noticeably
The engine runs too rich or too lean
Starting or warm-running issues are present
The sensor is contaminated, damaged, or electrically faulty
The intake or fuel injection system is being serviced or repaired
