Fabspeed Side Muffler Bypass.

The Fabspeed Porsche 992.2 Carrera GTS Side Muffler Bypass is a lightweight, high-flow exhaust upgrade developed specifically for the Porsche 992.2 Carrera GTS T-Hybrid.

Fits:

  • Porsche 992.1 Carrera GTS 3.0L 2019-24
  • Porsche 992.1 Carrera GTS 3.0L 2019-24
  • Porsche 992.1 Carrera GTS Cabriolet 3.0L 2019-24
  • Porsche 992.1 Carrera GTS Cabriolet 3.0L 2019-24

Designed as a direct replacement for the large factory left-side muffler, the system uses a
3-inch / 76 mm exhaust pipe to create a more direct exhaust route.

The result is a significantly more aggressive flat-six exhaust note, reduced rear weight and improved exhaust flow without replacing the vehicle's factory catalytic-converter system.

Fabspeed manufactures the system in the USA using its in-house 3D scanning, CAD design and CNC mandrel-bending processes.

What This Product Does:
The factory side muffler is designed to reduce exhaust noise and provide the refinement expected from a modern Porsche.

While effective for sound suppression, the muffler also adds weight and creates additional exhaust restriction.

The Fabspeed Side Muffler Bypass replaces this component with a much simpler, freer-flowing pipe.

The system is designed to:

  • Reduce exhaust restriction
  • Increase exhaust volume
  • Produce a more aggressive flat-six sound
  • Improve exhaust flow
  • Reduce rear vehicle weight
  • Reduce heat associated with the large factory muffler
  • Increase horsepower and torque
  • Retain the original catalytic converters
  • Maintain a bolt-on installation

For a healthy factory vehicle, this product should primarily be considered a performance, sound and weight-reduction upgrade, rather than a maintenance replacement.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
The factory muffler does not normally require replacement solely because of mileage, but exhaust components can deteriorate through heat, condensation, vibration and impact.

Possible symptoms include:

  • Metallic rattling from inside the muffler
  • Buzzing at particular engine speeds
  • Exhaust blowing or hissing
  • Cracks around welds or joints
  • Loose exhaust connections
  • Corrosion
  • Damaged muffler casing
  • Exhaust mounting problems
  • Excessive exhaust movement
  • Black soot around leaking joints
  • Unusual vibration
  • Exhaust system sitting out of alignment
  • Increased noise caused by internal muffler failure

These symptoms may also originate from heat shields, clamps, exhaust valves or adjoining components, so proper inspection is recommended.

Why Replacement Matters:
A damaged factory muffler can cause more than unwanted noise.

Continued use with a deteriorated exhaust component may contribute to:

  • Exhaust leakage
  • Excessive vibration
  • Increased stress on neighbouring exhaust components
  • Hot gases escaping near surrounding parts
  • Poor exhaust alignment
  • Reduced exhaust flow

Replacing a failed component restores a secure exhaust route.

However, when the factory muffler remains fully serviceable, fitting the Fabspeed Side Muffler Bypass is primarily an upgrade for increased sound, improved flow, reduced weight and additional performance.

NOTE: In the United Kingdom, sports catalytic converters and bypass pipes do not have type approval and are not legally permitted for use on vehicles manufactured after 1st March 2001. They are not MOT compliant and cannot be used on public roads. These components are intended solely for race and track use.

For vehicles manufactured before 1st March 2001, a non-type approved sports catalytic converter may be fitted, provided it offers comparable performance to the original and the vehicle continues to meet the applicable emissions standards for its age. The vehicle must still pass an MOT test.

If you are located outside the UK, please check your local laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
