OE Match Long Driveshaft Flange for PDK Gearbox – CG205

A worn gearbox output flange can create unwanted movement between the transmission and driveshaft. This OE Match long driveshaft flange provides an aftermarket replacement for Porsche 981 2.7ltr models using the CG205 PDK gearbox.

Fits:

  • Porsche Boxster 981 2.7L 2012-16
  • Porsche Cayman 2.7L 981 2013-16

Diagram Ref No 17

Located at the gearbox output, the flange provides the connection between the transmission and driveshaft, transferring rotational power to the rear wheels.

Not suitable for CG225 gearboxes, which use long flange reference 9G233220925.

Always confirm the vehicle VIN and gearbox code before ordering.

Designed to replace the original flange, it restores the mechanical connection required to deliver power from the transmission to the rear wheels without replacing the complete gearbox assembly.

What Does This Flange Do?

The flange forms the connection point where the driveshaft attaches to the transmission.

As the PDK gearbox delivers power, the flange turns with the output shaft and transfers that rotation into the driveshaft, which drives the rear wheel.

The long version has a different physical configuration from the short flange and must match the gearbox installation.

Why Might It Need Replacing?

Although designed for long service life, a driveshaft flange can become damaged through repeated loading, corrosion or previous repair work.

Typical reasons for replacement include:

  • Worn or damaged driveshaft mounting surfaces
  • Cracks or distortion in the flange
  • Damaged splines or retaining surfaces
  • Excessive play at the gearbox output
  • Damage discovered when removing a driveshaft

Symptoms Worth Investigating

A faulty flange may contribute to vibration, metallic knocking or movement around the driveshaft connection.

However, similar symptoms can result from worn driveshaft joints, transmission mounts or other drivetrain components. Inspect the complete assembly before replacing parts.

Installation Considerations

Check the gearbox output splines, retaining ring and oil seal for damage.

The replacement flange must be correctly positioned and secured using the appropriate Porsche installation procedure. Any damaged or specified single-use retaining components should be replaced.

Why Choose OE Match?

OE Match offers an aftermarket alternative for Porsche owners and repair specialists looking to replace an individual worn transmission component.

This allows the affected flange to be renewed while retaining serviceable gearbox and driveshaft parts.

OE Match Porsche 981 PDK Gearbox & Driveshaft Components

Maintaining the driveshaft connections on a Porsche 981 Boxster or Cayman is an important part of transmission servicing. The output flange must remain correctly located and free from damage to transmit power effectively.

For vehicles equipped with the CG205 PDK transmission, the OE Match long driveshaft flange provides an aftermarket replacement for a worn or damaged original component.
