Why this part should be replaced

• On the 2.0-litre Macan, the water pump and thermostat housing is a known weak point. Owners and specialists frequently report:
• Coolant leaks from the pump or the plastic housing seams
• Cracks or warping in the thermostat housing over time
• Internal seal failure, allowing coolant to escape
• Sticking thermostat, causing the engine to run too cold or overheat
• Because the pump, thermostat and housing are integrated, it’s more cost-effective and reliable to replace the complete assembly rather than just the thermostat or pump alone.

Typical reasons to replace:

• Visible coolant leak at the front/right-hand side of the engine
• Repeated “Check coolant level” warnings
• Engine temperature running higher or lower than normal
• Overheating in traffic or under load
• Preventive maintenance when doing major cooling or front-engine work
