Oil Pipe Tank To Engine.
The OE Match Oil Pipe Tank to Engine is a high-quality replacement oil line designed to connect the external oil tank to the engine within Porsche's dry sump lubrication system. This critical oil pipe ensures a continuous supply of engine oil is delivered from the oil reservoir to the engine, supporting lubrication, cooling and overall engine performance.

Fits:
  • Porsche 911 1978-1983 3.0L / SC

Diagram Ref No 20

Manufactured to OE specifications for fit, function and durability, this replacement oil pipe is engineered to withstand high oil temperatures, pressure fluctuations and demanding operating conditions. It is the ideal solution for replacing corroded, damaged or leaking original oil lines and restoring the integrity of the vehicle's lubrication system.

What This Product Does:
  • Transfers engine oil from the external oil tank to the engine.
  • Forms an essential part of the Porsche dry sump lubrication system.
  • Maintains a constant supply of oil to critical engine components.
  • Supports engine cooling through effective oil circulation.
  • Helps maintain correct oil pressure throughout the lubrication system.
  • Protects internal engine parts from excessive wear and friction.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
  • Visible oil leaks beneath the vehicle.
  • Oil seepage around pipe connections or fittings.
  • Corrosion or rust on metal sections of the oil line.
  • Cracked, damaged or deteriorated hose sections.
  • Low engine oil levels caused by oil loss.
  • Oil pressure warning lights or fluctuating oil pressure readings.
  • Burning oil smells from leaking oil contacting hot engine components.
  • Oil contamination around the engine bay or underbody.

Why Replacement Matters:

  • Oil pipes are exposed to continuous heat, vibration, road debris, moisture and pressure changes throughout their service life. Over time, corrosion, fatigue and deterioration can compromise the pipe's ability to safely transport oil between the tank and engine.
  • A leaking or restricted oil pipe can reduce oil flow, affect oil pressure and increase the risk of oil starvation. If left unresolved, this can result in accelerated engine wear, overheating and potentially severe engine damage. Replacing a worn oil pipe helps maintain proper lubrication, supports reliable engine operation and protects critical internal components from costly repairs.

Oil tube seal for crankcase distribution oil pipes.
Round oil return tube O-ring used at the outer ends of the crankcase oil distribution / return tubes. Each tube uses two seals, and a complete engine typically requires multiple O-rings depending on tube type and configuration (often eight per engine on many 911/964/993 applications).
Sold each.

Fits:
Porsche 911 1970 - 1989
Porsche 964 1989 - 1994
Porsche 993 1994 - 1998

Diagram ref no 14.

This seal provides a leak-tight joint between the oil return tube and the crankcase or associated oil galleries. By sealing the tube ends, it:
Prevents engine oil leaks at the tube junctions.
Helps maintain correct oil circulation and system pressure.
Keeps oil off the heat exchangers, exhaust and underside of the engine, reducing smells, smoke and contamination.

With age, heat and constant oil exposure, original O-rings can harden, flatten, crack or shrink. When they fail:
Oil begins to weep or drip from the crankcase / tube junctions.
The underside of the engine, heat exchangers and exhaust can become oil-soaked, causing burning smells and smoke.
You may see oil spots under the car and gradual oil loss between services.

Replacing tired seals is a low-cost, high-impact fix that significantly reduces leaks and keeps the engine bay cleaner.

When to Replace
Consider replacing these oil tube seals if:
You see oil leaks or dampness around the oil return tubes or crankcase unions.
The engine is undergoing an oil return tube replacement (solid or collapsible).
You’re performing an engine refresh, top-end rebuild, or major oil system service.
The car shows persistent oil drips on the floor despite other seals being renewed.

About Oil Pipes & Hoses

Engine Oil Pipes & Hoses – Reliable Lubrication Flow for Porsche Performance

The engine oil pipes and hoses in your Porsche are essential components of the lubrication system, responsible for transporting oil between the engine, oil cooler, and various internal components. These lines maintain the correct oil pressure and flow, ensuring smooth operation, reduced friction, and long-term protection of your high-performance engine.

At Design911, we supply a wide range of oil pipes and hoses developed to meet the high standards of Porsche vehicles. Manufactured using heat-resistant rubber, reinforced steel, or braided lines, these components are designed for durability, leak prevention, and perfect fitment. Whether you’re maintaining a classic 911 or servicing a modern Cayman or Panamera, our manufacturer-quality oil hoses ensure reliable oil circulation and peak performance.

What Do Engine Oil Pipes and Hoses Do?

Oil pipes and hoses are critical for transporting pressurised oil through the engine’s lubrication and cooling circuits.

Core Functions:

  • Carry oil between the engine block, oil cooler, and filter housing.
  • Maintain consistent oil pressure for proper lubrication.
  • Prevent leaks and ensure stable oil flow under all conditions.

Without functioning oil pipes and hoses, oil flow becomes inconsistent — leading to reduced lubrication, overheating, and potential engine damage.

Why Do Oil Pipes and Hoses Fail?

Over time, exposure to heat, pressure, and oil contamination causes hoses and pipes to weaken or deteriorate.

Common Causes of Failure Include:

  • Age-related hardening or cracking of rubber hoses.
  • Corrosion or fatigue in metal or braided lines.
  • Loose fittings or clamps leading to leaks.
  • Oil degradation that damages internal linings.
  • Vibration and heat cycles, especially in performance engines.

Symptoms of failure include visible oil leaks, burning smells, low oil pressure, or warning lights — all of which indicate it’s time for inspection or replacement.

Why Replace Oil Pipes & Hoses?

Replacing damaged or leaking oil pipes ensures reliable lubrication and pressure regulation throughout your engine. Our high-quality, direct-fit replacements are designed to restore original flow characteristics, prevent leaks, and resist the extreme conditions found in performance driving.

Key Benefits:

  • Restores correct oil pressure and flow.
