Control Arms Rear
2 required per car. Sold Individually.

When lowering your 996/997/986/987 you will inevitably run into alignment issues with the rear toe settings. This problem is exacerbated by the fact that these cars are extremely sensitive to rear toe settings; just a degree or two can mean the difference between a tame daily driver and a twitchy racecar. When you require adjustments for these settings but you do not want to go to a fully solid spherical option like our S70.10.41 Rear Toe Control Arm w/ Bump Steer kit, this is the perfect alternative.
This kit includes everything you need to give your car that much needed adjustability in the rear toe settings. It includes one OEM rear outer tie rod and one FK teflon lined bearing equipped with adjustable jack nut to allow you to precisely dial your rear toe back into spec. By using the factory outer tie rod this setup will retain a more factory feel in terms of NVH and compliance while keeping you from burning through tires and having to deal with less than ideal handling.

Type: None Adjustable Thrust Arm Bushing

RSS Tarmac Series Motorsport Lower Control Arms are specifically engineered for use on lowered vehicles that have reduced travel struts/dampers such as PASM or M030 option. Alternatively if the car is equipped with high quality aftermarket or motorsport coilover kits ie Bilstein PSS10, KW V3 or Ohlins etc.
The Lower Control Arms are NOT COMPATIBLE with "Base Model Suspension" (long travel struts/dampers) or "Base Model struts/dampers with lowering springs."
Caution: Do not install on vehicles with Base Model struts/dampers as it may result in an unsafe driving condition with possibility of suspension bind when struts/dampers are fully extended or in full drop.
Price: Set of Two Control Arms plus 2 x 1mm/2mm/3mm/7mm Shims.
RSS Tarmac Series Control Arms are manufactured from 6061 aerospace grade billet aluminum. This allows for a more uniform molecular structure
at every point of the arm over the cast motorsports arm giving the customer a more durable and inherently stronger part. Manufacturing from billet
aluminum rather than casting results in less impurities in the metal.
Completely serviceable - for the extreme, repetitive track-day participant, our high-strength steel alloy spherical bearings (with a friction reducing /longevity increasing Teflon liner) can be replaced unlike the motorsports arm, in which case the customer will have to buy a new set of arms if the spherical bearings are worn.
Additionally, anodized surfaces and zinc-plated steel parts allow for better corrosion resistance against the elements.
Adjustable suspension geometry - adjust dynamic camber values and roll center heights with our unique zinc-plated steel bushings.
Solid monoball control arm ends offer a more responsive suspension over the factory one-piece rubber-injected control arm (also uses the same high
strength steel alloy spherical bearing found in our control arm monoball kit).
Unique design provides more gusseting over the motorsports arms for added strength and aesthetically appealing looks.

Rear Control Arms (Coffin Arms) – Stability, Alignment and Rear-End Control
Rear control arms, commonly referred to as coffin arms, are critical suspension components responsible for controlling rear wheel alignment, stability and handling balance. Mounted between the rear hub and chassis, these arms manage camber and toe movement as the suspension compresses and extends, directly affecting traction, tyre wear and overall vehicle confidence.
At Design911, we supply OE replacement and performance rear coffin arms from trusted suspension manufacturers. Whether you are addressing worn factory components or upgrading for fast-road and track use, rear control arms play a vital role in maintaining predictable handling and restoring proper suspension geometry.
What Do Rear Control Arms (Coffin Arms) Do?
Rear control arms locate the rear wheels and guide their
movement through suspension travel. Their primary functions include:
- Maintaining correct rear wheel camber and toe
- Providing rear-end stability under acceleration and cornering
- Supporting predictable handling balance
- Reducing unwanted suspension flex
Because the rear suspension governs traction and stability, worn or flexing coffin arms can significantly affect handling feel and tyre life.
Why Upgrade or Replace Rear Coffin Arms?
Upgrading or replacing rear control arms offers:
- Restored rear suspension geometry and alignment accuracy
- Improved traction and stability during cornering
- Reduced uneven tyre wear
- Better feedback and control during spirited driving
Performance rear control arms may feature stronger materials, uprated bushes or adjustable geometry, allowing fine-tuning of rear suspension setup for performance driving or track use.
When Should You Replace Rear Control Arms?
Rear coffin arms should be replaced or upgraded when:
- Suspension bushes are cracked, worn or noisy
- Rear alignment cannot be set correctly
- Handling feels unstable or unpredictable
- Uneven rear tyre wear is present
- Performing a suspension refresh or performance upgrade
Replacing worn rear control arms helps restore factory handling characteristics and improves overall driving confidence.
At Design911, our rear control arms meet OE or performance standards, supporting both professional servicing and enthusiast upgrades.
