RSS Lower control arm kit for Porsche Models.
Type: None Adjustable Thrust Arm Bushing

rss

RSS Tarmac Series Motorsport Lower Control Arms are specifically engineered for use on lowered vehicles that have reduced travel struts/dampers such as PASM or M030 option. Alternatively if the car is equipped with high quality aftermarket or motorsport coilover kits ie Bilstein PSS10, KW V3 or Ohlins etc.

The Lower Control Arms are NOT COMPATIBLE with "Base Model Suspension" (long travel struts/dampers) or "Base Model struts/dampers with lowering springs."
Caution: Do not install on vehicles with Base Model struts/dampers as it may result in an unsafe driving condition with possibility of suspension bind when struts/dampers are fully extended or in full drop.

Price: Set of Two Control Arms plus 2 x 1mm/2mm/3mm/7mm Shims.

RSS Tarmac Series Control Arms are manufactured from 6061 aerospace grade billet aluminum. This allows for a more uniform molecular structure
at every point of the arm over the cast motorsports arm giving the customer a more durable and inherently stronger part. Manufacturing from billet
aluminum rather than casting results in less impurities in the metal.

• Completely serviceable - for the extreme, repetitive track-day participant, our high-strength steel alloy spherical bearings (with a friction reducing /longevity increasing Teflon liner) can be replaced unlike the motorsports arm, in which case the customer will have to buy a new set of arms if the spherical bearings are worn.
Additionally, anodized surfaces and zinc-plated steel parts allow for better corrosion resistance against the elements.

• Adjustable suspension geometry - adjust dynamic camber values and roll center heights with our unique zinc-plated steel bushings.

• Solid monoball control arm ends offer a more responsive suspension over the factory one-piece rubber-injected control arm (also uses the same high
strength steel alloy spherical bearing found in our control arm monoball kit).

• Unique design provides more gusseting over the motorsports arms for added strength and aesthetically appealing looks.

What This Product Does:

  • Control arm bushes are the flexible/thrust-interface between the suspension control arm (wishbone) and the subframe or chassis mounting point. They allow the arm to pivot as the wheel moves up/down, and absorb vibration and noise while keeping the arm location accurate.
  • Over time the factory rubber bushes compress, distort, crack or become loose — this leads to excess play in the control arm, loss of alignment precision, drift in geometry, and degraded handling.
  • The Prekom set replaces these bushes, restoring the correct pivot location, reducing unwanted movement, improving consistency of alignment under load (cornering, braking), and enhancing feel and feedback of the front suspension.

When You Should Consider Replacement:
  • Steering feel has degraded, especially front-end feel: e.g., front wheels feel vague, steering returns less precisely, or there’s more wander than before.
  • Uneven or accelerated tyre wear on front tyres: if the control arm moves under load, alignment changes or adverse camber/caster shifts can wear tyres.
  • Clunks or knocks from the front suspension when going over bumps: worn bushes can allow metal-on-metal contact or abrupt arm movement.
  • Front suspension alignment cannot be held, or you repeatedly struggle to set correct alignment — a likely indicator of worn bushes.
  • Inspection reveals bush deterioration: Cracked rubber, visible excessive play in the arm, or the bush body separated from its shell are clear signs.

Why Replacement Matters:
  • Restores handling precision & front-end stability: Good bushes ensure the arm holds geometry under load; if bushes are worn the arm shifts under cornering or braking, affecting handling.
  • Improves ride comfort & reduces NVH: Worn bushes transmit more vibration and noise into the cabin; renewing them helps ride refinement.
  • Protects other components: When the arm moves excessively, it can load ball joints, tie rods and bearings improperly — which can cause premature wear.
  • Cost-efficient preventative maintenance: Since the bushes are relatively low cost but can significantly affect feel and alignment, replacing them during other suspension work is smart.

About Control Arms Front

Front Control Arms – Precision Steering and Suspension Control

Front control arms are critical suspension components that locate the front wheels, control suspension geometry and maintain precise steering alignment. By connecting the chassis to the wheel hub, control arms manage camber, caster and toe movement throughout suspension travel, directly influencing handling stability, steering response and tyre wear.

At Design911, we offer front control arms ranging from OE-spec replacements to performance upgrades from trusted suspension brands. Whether replacing worn factory arms or upgrading to adjustable or reinforced designs, front control arms are essential for restoring sharp handling and improving front-end confidence.

What Do Front Control Arms Do?

Front control arms form a key part of the suspension system, allowing controlled vertical movement of the wheels while keeping them correctly aligned. Their main functions include:

  • Maintaining correct wheel alignment and geometry
  • Supporting steering precision and stability
  • Controlling suspension movement under braking and cornering Isolating road impacts while maintaining control

They work together with bushes, ball joints and dampers to ensure predictable handling and consistent tyre contact with the road.

Why Upgrade or Replace Front Control Arms?

Upgrading front control arms is beneficial because it offers:

  • Restored or improved steering accuracy
  • Reduced unwanted suspension flex under load
  • Improved tyre wear and alignment stability
  • Enhanced feedback during spirited driving

Performance control arms may feature uprated bushes, stronger materials or adjustable geometry, allowing fine-tuning for fast-road or track-focused setups.

When Should You Replace Front Control Arms?

Front control arms should be replaced or upgraded when:

  • Ball joints or bushes are worn, cracked or noisy
  • Steering feels vague or unstable
  • Uneven tyre wear is present
  • Performing a suspension refresh or performance upgrade
  • Alignment cannot be set correctly

Replacing worn control arms restores proper suspension geometry and significantly improves handling confidence.

At Design911, our front control arms meet OE or performance standards to support reliable servicing and enthusiast-level upgrades.
