A Quick Look at OE Match

OE Match information on this page is based on details supplied by the manufacturer or distributor, plus any OE references provided with the parts.

Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche

Where OE Match is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.

  • Often chosen when owners want OE-equivalent quality with sensible running costs, especially for routine service and wear items.
  • Typical reasons to replace include restoring reliability, addressing age-related wear, or refreshing multiple components during larger repair work.
  • Common defects from incorrect application include noise, premature wear, leaks, or fitment quirks if the wrong variant is selected or fitted with old seals/hardware.
  • Watch for symptoms such as unusual noises, early wear, or repeat failures after recent work, which can indicate mismatched parts or supporting items left worn.
  • Always cross-check OEM part numbers, read model-year notes, and verify compatibility before ordering.
  • For safety-critical components, confirm specification and fitment carefully and have installation checked by a competent technician.

Browse by Category

If you already know the area you are working on, start with the category and then filter by Porsche model. Where real-world symptoms and typical reasons to replace are provided, use them to keep the wording grounded.

Brakes — Brake components are renewed to restore stopping performance, address wear or upgrade a Porsche for fast road or track use. Common symptoms include vibration under braking, longer stopping distances, squealing, pulling to one side, warning lights and visible wear to discs and pads.

Brake Pad Wear Sensors — Brake pad wear sensors are replaced when pads are renewed or when warning lights indicate a broken or worn sensor. Symptoms include brake wear warnings even with new pads, damaged sensor cables, or broken clips around the caliper area.

Engine Electrical — Engine electrical parts are changed when there are starting, charging, ignition, or sensor-related faults that affect drivability and reliability, such as intermittent no-start, misfires, rough idle, poor charging, warning lights or heat-soak failures.

Service Parts — Service parts are replaced as routine maintenance to keep the engine and systems reliable, efficient, and protected, often resolving hard starting, rough idle, poor fuel economy and warning lights caused by clogged filters or worn ignition components.

Service Kits — Service kits bundle key service components to simplify maintenance and set the car back to a known baseline, especially useful when catching up on overdue servicing or dealing with general sluggish running, inconsistent idle and reduced performance.

  • For brake parts, confirm whether items are OE-equivalent replacements or performance upgrades and check if new fitting kits and sensors are required.
  • On service items and kits, match the kit to your exact Porsche model, engine and year, and review what is included so you can add any extra “while you are there” parts.

This seal fits around the clutch release fork shaft, sealing the interface between the transmission housing and the moving shaft. It prevents oil seepage from the gearbox and keeps contaminants out of the clutch assembly. By maintaining a clean, sealed environment, it protects the clutch release mechanism from oil contamination and ensures smooth pedal operation.

Why replacement matters:
Over time, heat and gearbox oil exposure cause the original seal to harden or shrink, leading to leaks.
Oil leakage into the clutch housing can cause clutch slip, premature wear, and performance issues.
Installing an replacement restores factory-level sealing integrity, stops oil leaks, and extends transmission and clutch component life.

The oil pressure relief piston works with the relief spring and guide components inside the engine block/crankcase. Its job is to help control excess oil pressure by allowing oil to bypass when pressure reaches the required limit, protecting the lubrication system and helping maintain consistent oil flow to critical engine components.

Functions
•  Helps regulate engine oil pressure
•  Works with the oil pressure relief spring and guide sleeve
•  Helps protect the engine from excessive oil pressure

•  Supports correct oil flow through the lubrication system
•  Helps maintain reliable lubrication of bearings and internal engine parts
•  Provides an OE Match replacement for the original relief piston
•  Suitable for engine rebuilds, crankcase service, and oil pressure repairs

The oil pressure relief piston is exposed to constant oil flow, heat, pressure, and engine wear particles. Over time, the piston can become scored, worn, sticky, or damaged, which may affect oil pressure regulation. A worn or sticking piston can contribute to low, high, or unstable oil pressure, so replacement is recommended during engine overhaul or when oil pressure control issues are being investigated.

When to replace
•   Oil pressure is too high, too low, or unstable
•   The original piston is scored, worn, sticking, or damaged
•   The engine has suffered internal wear or contamination
•   The crankcase oil pressure relief system is being serviced
•   The oil pressure relief spring, guide sleeve, or plug is being replaced
•   The engine is being rebuilt or overhauled
•   There are concerns about correct lubrication system operation

Where it fits on the car
This piston fits inside the engine crankcase/oil pressure relief valve assembly. It sits in the crankcase and is used with the relief spring and guide sleeve to control oil pressure in the engine lubrication system.

Clutch Release Bearing.
The OE Match Clutch Release Bearing also known as a throw-out bearing, is a high-quality replacement clutch system component designed to transfer force from the clutch release mechanism to the clutch pressure plate. Manufactured to OE specifications for fit, performance and durability, this precision-engineered bearing plays a vital role in ensuring smooth clutch engagement and disengagement.

PLEASE NOTE:  These require additional lubrication. This can be done through the two small holes at the back. It appears that otherwise they run dry too quickly.

Fits:
  • Porsche 356C 1963-65

Constructed from premium-grade bearing materials and designed to withstand continuous rotational forces, heat and mechanical loads, the clutch release bearing enables the clutch assembly to operate smoothly while minimising friction and wear. It is an essential component for maintaining proper clutch performance, gear selection and driving comfort.

What This Product Does:
  • Transfers force from the clutch release fork to the pressure plate.
  • Enables smooth clutch disengagement when the pedal is pressed.
  • Allows rotational movement between stationary and rotating components.
  • Reduces friction within the clutch release mechanism.
  • Supports smooth gear changes and transmission operation.
  • Helps maintain consistent clutch pedal feel.
  • Contributes to overall drivetrain reliability and performance.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
  • Squealing, whirring or grinding noises when the clutch pedal is depressed.
  • Noise that disappears when the clutch pedal is released.
  • Rough or inconsistent clutch pedal operation.
  • Increased clutch pedal effort.
  • Vibration felt through the clutch pedal.
  • Difficulty engaging or changing gears.
  • Clutch drag or incomplete disengagement.
  • Excessive wear within the clutch release mechanism.
  • Complete clutch operation failure in severe cases.

Why Replacement Matters:

  • The clutch release bearing is subjected to constant mechanical loading, rotational movement and heat whenever the clutch is operated. Over time, the internal bearing surfaces can wear, lubrication can deteriorate and bearing clearances can increase, leading to noise, vibration and reduced performance.
  • A failing release bearing can affect clutch operation and place additional stress on the pressure plate, release fork and other clutch components. If left unresolved, bearing failure can lead to difficult gear changes, clutch disengagement problems and potentially extensive clutch system damage requiring major repairs.
  • Replacing a worn clutch release bearing restores smooth clutch operation, improves driving comfort and helps protect other clutch components from premature wear. An OE Match replacement provides factory-style fitment, precision manufacturing and dependable long-term durability, ensuring reliable clutch performance and helping maintain the driving experience expected from your Porsche.
