A Quick Look at OE Match

OE Match information on this page is based on details supplied by the manufacturer or distributor, plus any OE references provided with the parts.

Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche

Where OE Match is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.

  • Often chosen when owners want OE-equivalent quality with sensible running costs, especially for routine service and wear items.
  • Typical reasons to replace include restoring reliability, addressing age-related wear, or refreshing multiple components during larger repair work.
  • Common defects from incorrect application include noise, premature wear, leaks, or fitment quirks if the wrong variant is selected or fitted with old seals/hardware.
  • Watch for symptoms such as unusual noises, early wear, or repeat failures after recent work, which can indicate mismatched parts or supporting items left worn.
  • Always cross-check OEM part numbers, read model-year notes, and verify compatibility before ordering.
  • For safety-critical components, confirm specification and fitment carefully and have installation checked by a competent technician.

Browse by Category

If you already know the area you are working on, start with the category and then filter by Porsche model. Where real-world symptoms and typical reasons to replace are provided, use them to keep the wording grounded.

Brakes — Brake components are renewed to restore stopping performance, address wear or upgrade a Porsche for fast road or track use. Common symptoms include vibration under braking, longer stopping distances, squealing, pulling to one side, warning lights and visible wear to discs and pads.

Brake Pad Wear Sensors — Brake pad wear sensors are replaced when pads are renewed or when warning lights indicate a broken or worn sensor. Symptoms include brake wear warnings even with new pads, damaged sensor cables, or broken clips around the caliper area.

Engine Electrical — Engine electrical parts are changed when there are starting, charging, ignition, or sensor-related faults that affect drivability and reliability, such as intermittent no-start, misfires, rough idle, poor charging, warning lights or heat-soak failures.

Service Parts — Service parts are replaced as routine maintenance to keep the engine and systems reliable, efficient, and protected, often resolving hard starting, rough idle, poor fuel economy and warning lights caused by clogged filters or worn ignition components.

Service Kits — Service kits bundle key service components to simplify maintenance and set the car back to a known baseline, especially useful when catching up on overdue servicing or dealing with general sluggish running, inconsistent idle and reduced performance.

  • For brake parts, confirm whether items are OE-equivalent replacements or performance upgrades and check if new fitting kits and sensors are required.
  • On service items and kits, match the kit to your exact Porsche model, engine and year, and review what is included so you can add any extra “while you are there” parts.

Common failure modes / deterioration

Rubber degradation (cracking, hardening, tearing)

Over time, the rubber can become brittle, crack, or split from repeated stress cycles, heat, chemical exposure (oil, road salt, etc.). This reduces its damping ability.

Delamination / bond failure

The bonding between the rubber and the metal interfaces can fail, leading to slippage or separation under load.

Excessive deformation / sagging

As the rubber softens or wears, the mount may deform under load, causing misalignment or increased movement under torque.

Fatigue / wear from repeated cycles

Especially under harsh driving conditions (off-road, heavy loads, aggressive acceleration/shifting), the stress cycles on the mount accelerate wear. Some aftermarket writeups claim that the factory rubber design is prone to “premature Drive Shaft Support failure” because of constant stress on the rubber.

Heat / ozone / environmental damage

Exposure to high temperatures, undercarriage heat, moisture, road debris, and ozone accelerates rubber aging.

Load shift or impact damage

If the vehicle strikes a pothole or the differential experiences shock loads, the mount may crack or tear.

Front Shock absorber adjusting nut.
This nut locks and retains key shock/strut assembly elements in the correct position. It helps prevent looseness, unwanted movement, or misalignment within the front suspension, supporting consistent handling and steering feel.
Sold each, 2 required per vehicle.

Fits:
Porsche 964 1989 - 1994 All models
Porsche 993 1994 - 1998 (not RS)

Diagram ref no 8

Front shock absorber adjusting nut manufactured to replicate the original Porsche part’s thread form, dimensions, and seating interface. Designed for direct installation with factory-style front suspension components on Porsche 964 and 993 models.

Installed on the front strut/shock assembly, the adjusting nut provides secure mechanical retention and precise positioning of the shock insert or related strut components. Its correct fit and thread engagement are essential for maintaining suspension integrity under repeated load cycles, bumps, and braking forces.

Adjusting nuts can round off, seize, corrode, or lose thread integrity over time - especially in vehicles exposed to moisture, road salt, or frequent suspension work. Replacing a worn or damaged nut helps ensure the shock/strut assembly remains correctly secured, preventing noise, play, and potential suspension failure.

When to replace:
Nut is seized, heavily corroded, or damaged during removal
Rounded flats / tool damage prevents correct torqueing
 Visible thread wear or cross-threading
Suspension rebuild, shock/insert replacement, or strut refurbishment
Front end clunks/rattles traced to strut hardware (after inspection)

Oil filler flap decal.
This is an reproduction decal for the oil filler flap. The decal serves both a practical and aesthetic purpose - it identifies the oil filler location on the engine and adds authentic Porsche graphic detail. A clear, correctly-styled decal helps ensure that anyone servicing the vehicle can quickly and correctly locate the oil filler, while also preserving the authentic look of a classic engine bay.

Fits:
Porsche 911 - 1972 (Side oil filler)

Over time, original decals can fade, peel, crack, or become illegible due to heat, oil exposure, and age. A faded or missing oil filler decal not only detracts from the engine bay’s appearance but can also make routine servicing less intuitive. Replacing it with a high quality decal:
Restores correct factory graphic detail
Enhances visual integrity of a classic engine bay
 Helps maintain authentic restoration standards

Replace the oil filler flap decal if you notice:
 Faded or cracked graphics
 Peeling or missing decal
During engine bay restoration or detailing
 When completing a concours-level preservation

Behr air duct decal
This OE Match Behr air duct decal is a replacement engine bay / air duct label for Porsche 356B T6 and 356C models. It is designed to match the original-style appearance and helps restore the correct period detail to the air duct area.

Fits:
Porsche 356B T6 - 1961 to 1963
Porsche 356C - 1963 to 1965

The Behr air duct decal provides the correct manufacturer-style marking for the air duct component. It is a finishing detail used during restoration, repainting, or engine bay refurbishment to return the vehicle to an original-style presentation.

Functions
•  Replaces the Behr air duct decal
•  Restores correct OE-style engine bay detail
•  Provides period-correct air duct labelling
•  Suitable for restoration, repainting, or air duct refurbishment
Replaces faded, missing, peeling, damaged, or incorrect decals
•  Helps complete the factory-style appearance of the engine bay
•  OE Match replacement for Porsche 356 decal restoration.

Why Replace This Part?
Original decals can fade, peel, tear, stain, or become unreadable due to age, heat, moisture, cleaning, engine bay work, or repainting. A missing or damaged decal can make an otherwise restored air duct or engine bay look incomplete. Replacing the decal helps restore the correct classic Porsche presentation.

When to Replace This Part
•   The original Behr decal is faded, damaged, peeling, or missing
•   The air duct has been cleaned, refinished, or repainted
•   Engine bay restoration is being carried out
•   Incorrect or non-original decals have been fitted
•   Period-correct detailing is required
•   The vehicle is being prepared for concours or restoration presentation
•   The car is undergoing Porsche 356B T6 or 356C restoration.

Where it fits on the car
This decal fits on the air duct area on Porsche 356B T6 and 356C models. It is applied according to the original factory-style decal location.
