A Quick Look at OE Match

OE Match information on this page is based on details supplied by the manufacturer or distributor, plus any OE references provided with the parts.

Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche

Where OE Match is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.

  • Often chosen when owners want OE-equivalent quality with sensible running costs, especially for routine service and wear items.
  • Typical reasons to replace include restoring reliability, addressing age-related wear, or refreshing multiple components during larger repair work.
  • Common defects from incorrect application include noise, premature wear, leaks, or fitment quirks if the wrong variant is selected or fitted with old seals/hardware.
  • Watch for symptoms such as unusual noises, early wear, or repeat failures after recent work, which can indicate mismatched parts or supporting items left worn.
  • Always cross-check OEM part numbers, read model-year notes, and verify compatibility before ordering.
  • For safety-critical components, confirm specification and fitment carefully and have installation checked by a competent technician.

Browse by Category

If you already know the area you are working on, start with the category and then filter by Porsche model. Where real-world symptoms and typical reasons to replace are provided, use them to keep the wording grounded.

Brakes — Brake components are renewed to restore stopping performance, address wear or upgrade a Porsche for fast road or track use. Common symptoms include vibration under braking, longer stopping distances, squealing, pulling to one side, warning lights and visible wear to discs and pads.

Brake Pad Wear Sensors — Brake pad wear sensors are replaced when pads are renewed or when warning lights indicate a broken or worn sensor. Symptoms include brake wear warnings even with new pads, damaged sensor cables, or broken clips around the caliper area.

Engine Electrical — Engine electrical parts are changed when there are starting, charging, ignition, or sensor-related faults that affect drivability and reliability, such as intermittent no-start, misfires, rough idle, poor charging, warning lights or heat-soak failures.

Service Parts — Service parts are replaced as routine maintenance to keep the engine and systems reliable, efficient, and protected, often resolving hard starting, rough idle, poor fuel economy and warning lights caused by clogged filters or worn ignition components.

Service Kits — Service kits bundle key service components to simplify maintenance and set the car back to a known baseline, especially useful when catching up on overdue servicing or dealing with general sluggish running, inconsistent idle and reduced performance.

  • For brake parts, confirm whether items are OE-equivalent replacements or performance upgrades and check if new fitting kits and sensors are required.
  • On service items and kits, match the kit to your exact Porsche model, engine and year, and review what is included so you can add any extra “while you are there” parts.

Clutch Release Bearing Guide Tube / Shaft (Guide Sleeve)
OE Match clutch release bearing guide tube (also referred to as a guide sleeve or clutch release bearing shaft) is designed to replicate the original Porsche factory component that guides and supports the clutch release (throw-out) bearing within the transmission assembly.

Fits:
Porsche 986 Boxster S 3.2L 2000 - 2004
Porsche 996 C2 / C4 / C4S 1998 - 2005
Porsche 997.1 C2 / C2S / C4 / C4S 2005 - 2008
Porsche 997.2   C2 / C2S / C4 / C4S 2009 - 2012
Porsche 991.1 Carrera 2012 -2016

Diagram ref no 7.

The clutch release bearing guide tube provides a precise sliding surface and alignment path for the clutch release (throw-out) bearing. By guiding the bearing smoothly along the transmission input shaft, it enables reliable clutch actuation, reduces wear on mating surfaces, and helps maintain consistent clutch pedal feel and engagement.

Function:
Installed inside the manual transmission bellhousing, this guide tube:
Guides and supports the clutch release bearing along the input shaft
•  Ensures proper alignment of clutch actuation components
Reduces friction and wear on the bearing and shaft surface
Provides stable operation across repeated clutch engagements
Proper guide tube performance is essential for reliable clutch engagement, reduced noise, and long-term drivetrain durability.

The clutch release bearing guide tube is a wear surface and alignment component that operates under repeated mechanical load each time the clutch is used. Over time, the original guide may wear, score, or distort, leading to misalignment, increased bearing wear, clutch chatter, or engagement issues. Replacing a worn tube with a high-quality OE Match guide tube restores proper bearing travel and alignment, helping preserve clutch life and ensuring smooth gear shifts.

When to replace:
During clutch replacement or transmission removal
When the original guide tube shows wear, scoring, or deformation
If the clutch release bearing shows uneven wear or binding
After transmission servicing or input-shaft work
Preventive refresh during high-mileage drivetrain overhaul

This radiator type oil cooler fits in the engine compartment on Porsche 911 models. It forms part of the engine oil cooling system and should be installed according to the factory oil cooler layout and sealing arrangement.

Fits:
Porsche 911 1972 - 1989

Diagram ref no 8.

The engine oil cooler helps reduce engine oil temperature by allowing heat from the oil to transfer through the cooler core. Correct oil cooling is essential on air-cooled Porsche engines, as the oil plays an important role in lubrication, heat control, and long-term engine reliability.

Functions
•  Replaces the engine compartment oil cooler
•  Helps regulate engine oil temperature
•  Supports correct lubrication and cooling performance
•  Assists in protecting the engine from excessive oil temperatures
•  Helps maintain stable operation during normal and demanding driving

Door shaft gasket
This seal fits the window slot/channel area to provide proper sealing and smooth operation of the door window glass. The window slot seal sits inside the door’s window channel, providing a cushioned track for the window glass to move up and down while maintaining a weatherproof barrier. It helps keep wind, rain, dust, and road noise out of the cabin, and supports smoother, quieter window operation.
Sold each, 2 required per vehicle.

Fits:
Porsche 914 1973 - 1976

Diagram ref no 7

Function: As the window glass slides within the door frame, it contacts this seal to form a continuous barrier along the glass edge. That prevents unwanted surface contact between metal and glass, reduces rattling, and contributes to climate control efficiency inside the vehicle. This seal also reduces the likelihood of damage to the glass edge or door frame caused by wear.

• Application: Fits the window slot/channel where the door window glass travels, typically installed within the door frame. Designed as a direct replacement for Porsche part 91453193910.

Over time, original window slot seals can harden, crack, compress, or detach, leading to:
Increased wind noise and vibration at speed.
Water and dirt ingress past the window channel.
 Stiffer or uneven window movement.
Replacing worn seals with a high-quality seal restores proper sealing integrity, improves comfort, and helps preserve the authentic look and function of your classic Porsche 914.

Replace the window slot seal if you notice:
Water leakage into the cabin near the door windows
Excessive wind or road noise at highway speeds
Difficulty or sticking when operating the window
Visible cracks or deformation in the seal material
Gaps between the window edge and the door frame

Clutch Release Bearing.
The OE Match Clutch Release Bearing commonly known as a throw-out bearing, is a precision-engineered replacement clutch component designed to facilitate smooth disengagement of the clutch during gear changes. Manufactured to OE specifications for fit, performance and durability, this bearing forms a critical link between the clutch release mechanism and the pressure plate assembly.

PLEASE NOTE:  These require additional lubrication. This can be done through the two small holes at the back. It appears that otherwise they run dry too quickly.

Fits:
  • Porsche 356B 1959-63

Diagram Ref No 9

Constructed from high-quality bearing materials and designed to withstand continuous rotational forces, friction and heat, the clutch release bearing ensures smooth operation whenever the clutch pedal is depressed. Its precise operation helps maintain consistent clutch performance, smooth gear engagement and reliable drivetrain function.

What This Product Does:
  • Transfers clutch pedal force to the pressure plate assembly.
  • Enables smooth clutch disengagement during gear changes.
  • Allows rotational movement between the pressure plate and release mechanism.
  • Reduces friction within the clutch actuation system.
  • Supports precise gear selection and transmission operation.
  • Helps maintain smooth clutch pedal feel.
  • Contributes to overall drivetrain reliability and driving comfort.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
  • Squealing, chirping, whirring or grinding noises when the clutch pedal is pressed.
  • Noise that changes or disappears when the clutch pedal is released.
  • Rough or inconsistent clutch pedal operation.
  • Increased clutch pedal effort.
  • Vibration or pulsation felt through the clutch pedal.
  • Difficulty engaging or selecting gears.
  • Clutch drag or incomplete disengagement.
  • Excessive wear of related clutch components.
  • Complete clutch release failure in severe cases.

Why Replacement Matters:

  • The clutch release bearing is subjected to repeated engagement cycles, rotational loads and high operating temperatures throughout its service life. Over time, internal bearing surfaces can wear, lubrication can degrade and bearing clearances can increase, leading to noise, vibration and reduced clutch performance.
  • A failing release bearing can compromise clutch operation and place additional strain on the pressure plate, release fork and other clutch system components. If left unresolved, bearing failure can result in difficult gear changes, premature clutch wear and potentially costly transmission or clutch repairs.
  • Replacing a worn clutch release bearing restores smooth clutch operation, improves pedal feel and helps protect surrounding clutch components from unnecessary wear. An OE Match replacement provides factory-style fitment, precision manufacturing and dependable long-term durability, ensuring reliable clutch performance and maintaining the driving characteristics expected from your Porsche.
