What This Product Does
The assembly replaces the conventional accelerator-pedal arrangement with an electronic pedal ready for connection to a compatible engine control unit. It mounts on the factory pedal-box studs and provides adjustment to help align the accelerator with the brake pedal.
Functions
- Provides electronic accelerator input for a drive-by-wire installation
- Attaches to the original pedal-box mounting studs
- Allows lateral adjustment towards or away from the brake pedal
- Permits longitudinal adjustment relative to the depressed brake pedal
- Accommodates differences in floor height through an adjustable support foot
Technical Details
- Approximately ±10 mm of lateral pedal adjustment
- Approximately ±10 mm of longitudinal pedal adjustment
- Pedal mount manufactured from 3D-printed nylon
- Adjustable-height foot for variations in floor level
- Two-piece mounting assembly with an OEM electronic throttle pedal
- Correctly keyed connector supplied with pins and seals; wiring is not included
Installation Notes
The assembly uses a straightforward two-bolt mounting arrangement. On left-hand-drive cars, installation may require trimming a steel tab on the transmission tunnel. The pedal backplate must be modified to clear the larger assembly, and the surrounding pedal carpet may also require trimming. Select the correct LHD or RHD version for the vehicle before installation.

This OE match accelerator pedal rubber is a direct replacement for the original Porsche component fitted to early 911 and 914 models. It forms the contact surface between the driver’s foot and the accelerator pedal.
Fits:
Porsche 911 1965 - 1976
Porsche 914 1970 - 1976
Installed as part of the accelerator pedal assembly, it restores both functionality and the original driving feel expected from classic Porsche vehicles. It is particularly important for maintaining correct pedal response and driver control.
This pedal rubber provides a non-slip surface for the driver’s foot, allowing precise control of throttle input. It ensures smooth acceleration and improved driving safety by maintaining consistent pedal grip and responsiveness.
Function
• Provides grip for accelerator pedal operation
• Transfers driver input to throttle system
• Ensures smooth and controlled acceleration
• Reduces foot slippage during driving
• Withstands repeated use and heat exposure
Over time, pedal rubber can wear down, harden, or become slippery, reducing control and comfort. A worn pedal may lead to inconsistent throttle response or reduced driver confidence. Replacing it restores proper grip, improves driving precision, and maintains the original feel of the vehicle.
When to Replace
• Rubber is worn smooth or slippery
• Visible cracking or deterioration
• Reduced grip during acceleration
• Pedal feels loose or uneven underfoot
• During interior restoration or pedal overhaul

• Position on Vehicle: Driver’s footwell - accelerator pedal connecting to throttle linkage or cable (depending on spec), mounted in the footwell pedal cluster (alongside brake and clutch pedals).
• Function: Provides the interface between driver and throttle - allows foot control of engine throttle, enabling acceleration; ensures stable, correct pedal travel, grip, positioning and control feedback for safe, responsive driving.
• Applications: Ideal when the original pedal is worn, bent, missing, rubber pad degraded or if restoring a classic Porsche to correct interior spec. Also suited for owners seeking reliable, direct-fit replacement without modification.
Over time, the accelerator pedal assembly can suffer from wear, corrosion, pad deterioration or damage - leading to:
• Slippery or degraded pedal surface, risking foot slip under acceleration
• Inconsistent throttle control or poor feedback
• Altered pedal geometry affecting ergonomics and comfort
• Safety issues in slippery or demanding driving conditions
Replacing a pedal ensures secure foot contact, original pedal feel, safe throttle control and preserves the authenticity of your classic Porsche’s driving dynamics.
When to replace:
• The original pedal pad is worn, cracked or missing
• Pedal arm is bent, loose or shows signs of corrosion
• Pedal cluster refurbishment or interior restoration is being carried out
• You are reinstalling or repairing the throttle linkages and want all components fresh for reliability

Porsche Accelerator Pedal & Parts | Design911 Performance Throttle Components for Precision Response
Accelerator pedals and throttle components are essential for translating driver input into immediate engine response. In high-performance and motorsport applications, pedal precision directly impacts throttle modulation, acceleration smoothness, and driver control. Whether you’re restoring a classic Porsche or tuning a modern model for track use, a well-maintained accelerator system ensures reliability, safety, and a responsive driving experience.
At Design911, we offer a comprehensive range of accelerator pedals, pedal linkages, return springs, and throttle components engineered for accurate fitment and performance. Crafted from durable materials such as billet aluminium, stainless steel, and reinforced composites, our selection is designed for lasting precision and enhanced throttle feedback. Ideal for restoration projects, performance upgrades, or motorsport builds, every component upholds the driving feel Porsche is known for.
What Does the Accelerator Pedal Do?
The accelerator pedal, often called the throttle pedal, controls the amount of air and fuel delivered to the engine — directly affecting how quickly and smoothly your Porsche accelerates.
Core Functions:
• Translates driver input into throttle movement for precise power delivery.
• Ensures smooth and predictable acceleration under varying conditions.
• Supports consistent throttle modulation for track and road performance.
• Integrates with throttle cables, linkages, or electronic throttle modules.
• Provides responsive pedal travel for maximum driver feedback.
A well-functioning accelerator pedal system is key to maintaining engine responsiveness, driving enjoyment, and overall safety — especially under high-performance conditions.
Why Do Accelerator Pedals & Components Fail?
Accelerator pedals and their associated parts are subject to constant stress and motion, making them prone to wear and degradation over time.
Common Causes of Failure Include:
• Worn pivot points or pedal hinges causing sticky or uneven operation.
• Deteriorated linkage bushings or return springs reducing pedal feel.
• Electrical faults in throttle position sensors or pedal modules.
• Corrosion or fatigue in metal components from moisture exposure.
• Cracked or loose pedal pads affecting grip and response.
Failure of these components can lead to inconsistent throttle control, reduced acceleration precision, or even unsafe driving behaviour — making inspection and replacement essential.
Why Replace or Upgrade Your Porsche Accelerator Pedal?
Replacing or upgrading your Porsche’s accelerator pedal assembly restores accurate throttle response and improves control, especially in high-performance driving environments.
Key Benefits:
• Restores smooth and accurate throttle operation.
• Eliminates pedal sticking or uneven resistance.
• Improves throttle modulation for better acceleration control.
• Enhanced materials resist corrosion, fatigue, and wear.
• Precision-fit for Porsche 911, Boxster, Cayman, Panamera, and Cayenne.
• Suitable for performance upgrades, tuning, and full restorations.
Design911’s Porsche accelerator pedal range combines precision engineering, motorsport durability, and direct-fit compatibility to deliver uncompromised control and response.
Highlights
• Premium Porsche accelerator pedals and linkage components.
• Available in aluminium, composite, and reinforced steel.
• Improved throttle precision and pedal stability.
• Designed for easy installation and long service life.
• Fits classic and modern Porsche models.
• Ideal for restoration, performance upgrades, and track setups.
