A Quick Look at OE Match

OE Match information on this page is based on details supplied by the manufacturer or distributor, plus any OE references provided with the parts.

Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche

Where OE Match is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.

  • Often chosen when owners want OE-equivalent quality with sensible running costs, especially for routine service and wear items.
  • Typical reasons to replace include restoring reliability, addressing age-related wear, or refreshing multiple components during larger repair work.
  • Common defects from incorrect application include noise, premature wear, leaks, or fitment quirks if the wrong variant is selected or fitted with old seals/hardware.
  • Watch for symptoms such as unusual noises, early wear, or repeat failures after recent work, which can indicate mismatched parts or supporting items left worn.
  • Always cross-check OEM part numbers, read model-year notes, and verify compatibility before ordering.
  • For safety-critical components, confirm specification and fitment carefully and have installation checked by a competent technician.

Browse by Category

If you already know the area you are working on, start with the category and then filter by Porsche model. Where real-world symptoms and typical reasons to replace are provided, use them to keep the wording grounded.

Brakes — Brake components are renewed to restore stopping performance, address wear or upgrade a Porsche for fast road or track use. Common symptoms include vibration under braking, longer stopping distances, squealing, pulling to one side, warning lights and visible wear to discs and pads.

Brake Pad Wear Sensors — Brake pad wear sensors are replaced when pads are renewed or when warning lights indicate a broken or worn sensor. Symptoms include brake wear warnings even with new pads, damaged sensor cables, or broken clips around the caliper area.

Engine Electrical — Engine electrical parts are changed when there are starting, charging, ignition, or sensor-related faults that affect drivability and reliability, such as intermittent no-start, misfires, rough idle, poor charging, warning lights or heat-soak failures.

Service Parts — Service parts are replaced as routine maintenance to keep the engine and systems reliable, efficient, and protected, often resolving hard starting, rough idle, poor fuel economy and warning lights caused by clogged filters or worn ignition components.

Service Kits — Service kits bundle key service components to simplify maintenance and set the car back to a known baseline, especially useful when catching up on overdue servicing or dealing with general sluggish running, inconsistent idle and reduced performance.

  • For brake parts, confirm whether items are OE-equivalent replacements or performance upgrades and check if new fitting kits and sensors are required.
  • On service items and kits, match the kit to your exact Porsche model, engine and year, and review what is included so you can add any extra “while you are there” parts.

Fog light switch, Yellow tip
The 901 613 503 20 is a dashboard-mounted mechanical or push-pull switch used in early Porsche 911 / 911S / 911L and 912 models (1960s era) to activate the front fog lights. It is often grouped with the rear-window heating and warning-light switches, depending on vehicle specification.

In use, pulling or pressing the switch completes the circuit for the fog lights, sending power (via fuse and relay) to the fog lamp units. The switch usually has an internal light (“light-pipe”) or indicator so you can tell when fog lights are active.

Fits:
  • Porsche 911 65-68 + 911S, 912 USA version 911L with yellow lighting strip
  • Porsche 911 1965-1968 2.0L / 912 SWB (F)
  • Porsche 912E 4CYL 1976

Why / when it should be replaced

·         Even though the fog light switch is a relatively simple component, there are several reasons why it might need replacing:

·         Internal wear or contact failure. Over time, the internal contacts inside the switch can wear, corrode, or lose tension, leading to poor electrical contact. If that happens, the fog lights may not activate when the switch is engaged.

·         No illumination of the switch itself. On models where the switch includes a light-pipe or internal lamp so that you can see the switch position, failure of that internal illumination can make it harder to know whether the fog lights are on and may indicate internal switch failure.

·         Switch stuck or mechanically broken. The pull/knob mechanism may become sticky, stuck, or physically break, especially after decades of use, or due to heat/cockpit environment ageing. A switch that doesn’t move properly or won’t stay in the “on” position cannot reliably activate the fog lights.

·         Intermittent operation / flickering. Even if the switch appears to work, intermittent contact inside the switch might cause the fog lights to flicker, drop out, or not turn off properly.

·         Fuse or wiring feedback problems. In some cases, a failing switch can lead to blown fog-light fuses or feedback to wiring loops, especially if there is an internal short or poor contact. Replacing the switch may be required after troubleshooting electrical issues.

Diagram Ref No 13 and 14

The radiator fan is a critical part of a water-cooled engine's thermal management system. While airflow through the radiator naturally increases when the vehicle is moving, additional forced airflow is required when driving slowly, sitting in traffic or operating under conditions where natural airflow is insufficient. The electric fan draws or pushes air through the radiator as required, allowing heat to be transferred from the engine coolant to the surrounding air.

A worn or failed radiator fan can significantly reduce cooling efficiency, particularly at low road speeds. Problems can develop through motor wear, damaged fan blades, worn bearings, electrical faults or physical damage to the assembly.

This OE Match 400W, 370mm Radiator Water Fan provides a high-quality replacement for a defective original unit, helping restore controlled coolant temperatures and reliable cooling-system performance.

What This Product Does:

  • Provides forced airflow through the radiator.
  • Uses a 400W electric motor.
  • Features a 370mm fan diameter.
  • Helps remove heat from the engine coolant.
  • Supports correct engine operating temperature.
  • Provides additional cooling when vehicle speed is low.
  • Helps maintain cooling performance when stationary in traffic.
  • Supports cooling during demanding operating conditions.
  • Works with the vehicle's cooling-system controls and temperature management strategy.
  • Helps reduce the risk of overheating caused by inadequate radiator airflow.
  • Replaces a worn, noisy, damaged or failed radiator fan.
  • Provides an OE-style replacement for compatible Porsche applications.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
  • Engine temperature rising when stationary or in slow-moving traffic.
  • Cooling performance improving once vehicle speed increases.
  • Engine temperature becoming higher than normal.
  • Radiator fan failing to operate when required.
  • Fan operating intermittently.
  • Fan rotating more slowly than expected.
  • Unusual grinding, scraping or rattling noises.
  • Excessive vibration from the fan assembly.
  • Squealing or bearing noise from the fan motor.
  • Damaged, cracked or broken fan blades.
  • Fan blades contacting the surrounding housing or shroud.
  • Fan motor overheating or failing electrically.
  • Cooling-system or fan-related warning messages.
  • Diagnostic fault codes relating to cooling fan operation.

Why Replacement Matters:
  • Maintaining the correct engine operating temperature is essential for performance, reliability and engine longevity. The radiator can only dissipate heat effectively when sufficient air passes through its cooling fins.
  • At motorway speeds, vehicle movement generally provides substantial airflow. At idle or in slow traffic, however, the electric radiator fan becomes much more important. If the fan is unable to operate correctly, coolant temperature can rise rapidly despite the rest of the cooling system being functional.
  • Repeated or severe overheating can have serious consequences. Excessive temperature can damage seals and gaskets, accelerate deterioration of cooling-system components and, in extreme circumstances, contribute to cylinder-head or engine damage.
  • A damaged fan blade or worn motor bearing should also be addressed promptly. Excessive vibration can place additional stress on the fan assembly and surrounding components, while a damaged blade may eventually contact the shroud or fail completely.
  • Replacing a defective unit with this OE Match Radiator Water Fan helps restore reliable radiator airflow, stable coolant temperatures and dependable engine cooling.

Fits:
  • Porsche 911 1984-1986 3.2L
  • Porsche 911 1987-1989 3.2L G50

Diagram Ref No 3

On an air-cooled Porsche engine, engine covers and surrounding tinware perform an important function beyond simply providing a finished appearance. These components help guide cooling air through the intended areas of the engine and separate hot and cool zones within the engine compartment.
The engine cover is exposed to continuous heat cycles, vibration, moisture and contamination. Over time, an original component can become corroded, distorted, cracked or damaged around its mounting points. Covers may also be lost or incorrectly fitted during previous engine repairs or restoration work.
This OE Match Engine Cover provides a high-quality replacement for a damaged, corroded, missing or unsuitable original component, helping restore the integrity of the engine's cover arrangement.

What This Product Does:

  • Forms part of the engine's surrounding cover and tinware system.
  • Helps manage airflow around the engine.
  • Supports the correct routing of cooling air on applicable air-cooled engines.
  • Helps separate different temperature zones within the engine compartment.
  • Closes gaps that could allow cooling air to escape from its intended path.
  • Provides protection for associated engine areas.
  • Helps reduce exposure to dirt and debris.
  • Supports correct installation of surrounding engine tinware and seals.
  • Helps maintain a clean and complete engine compartment appearance.
  • Replaces a corroded, bent, damaged or missing engine cover.
  • Provides an OE-style replacement for compatible Porsche applications.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
  • Visible rust or corrosion.
  • Corrosion perforating the cover.
  • Cracks or splits in the component.
  • Bent or distorted sections.
  • Damaged mounting holes or fixing points.
  • Loose or missing fasteners.
  • Rattling or vibration from the engine cover.
  • The cover no longer fitting correctly against adjacent components.
  • Unwanted gaps in the engine tinware.
  • Evidence that the original cover is missing.
  • An incorrect component fitted during previous repairs.
  • Damage discovered during engine removal or rebuilding.
  • Deterioration affecting the appearance of the engine compartment.

Why Replacement Matters:
  • Air-cooled engines rely heavily on correctly managed airflow to control operating temperature. The various engine covers, air guides, seals and pieces of tinware work together to ensure cooling air travels through the intended areas.
  • If an engine cover is missing, badly distorted or incorrectly installed, unwanted gaps may allow cooling air to escape or hot air to circulate where it should not. Maintaining the complete engine tinware arrangement therefore helps the cooling system perform as designed.
  • A damaged cover can also create mechanical issues. Loose or distorted sections may vibrate against surrounding components, producing rattling noises and potentially causing further wear.
  • Corrosion is particularly relevant on older vehicles. Moisture can gradually weaken the cover, especially around mounting points and edges. Once these areas deteriorate significantly, the component may no longer remain securely positioned.
  • For a restored classic Porsche, correctly fitted engine covers are also important to the overall presentation of the engine compartment. Missing, heavily corroded or incorrectly shaped components can detract from an otherwise high-quality restoration.
  • Replacing a deteriorated component with this OE Match Engine Cover helps restore the completeness of the engine cover system, support proper cooling-air management and maintain an original-style engine compartment finish.

Fits:

  • Porsche 911 1978-1979 SC (PR399 A/C Without Front Condensor)

Diagram Ref No 10

On an air-cooled Porsche engine, the various covers, plates and sealing pieces around the engine are more than cosmetic components. They help control the path of cooling air and separate different areas around the engine so that airflow can be directed where intended.

This particular front engine cover blade features the required hole for its intended application. Correct component specification is therefore important when replacing a missing, damaged, corroded or incorrectly fitted original part.

Exposure to engine heat, vibration, moisture and previous servicing can cause engine cover components to corrode, distort or become damaged. Missing or incorrectly fitted pieces may also compromise the completeness of the engine's cooling-air arrangement.

What This Product Does:

  • Forms part of the engine's surrounding cover arrangement.
  • Helps maintain the intended separation of areas around the engine.
  • Supports correct management of cooling airflow on applicable air-cooled engines.
  • Helps close unwanted gaps around the engine cover system.
  • Features the appropriate hole for the intended installation.
  • Helps protect surrounding areas from debris and contamination.
  • Supports a complete and correctly assembled engine installation.
  • Replaces a missing, corroded, bent or damaged original component.
  • Helps restore an original-style appearance to the engine compartment.
  • Provides an OE-style replacement for compatible Porsche applications.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
  • Visible corrosion or rust.
  • Perforation caused by corrosion.
  • Bending or distortion.
  • Cracks or physical damage.
  • Damaged mounting points.
  • Loose or missing mounting hardware.
  • The cover blade vibrating or rattling while the engine is running.
  • Gaps caused by an incorrectly fitting component.
  • The original cover blade is missing.
  • An incorrect non-holed or otherwise unsuitable component has previously been installed.
  • Damage discovered during engine removal or rebuilding.
  • Deterioration affecting the appearance of the engine compartment.

Why Replacement Matters:
  • Air-cooled Porsche engines depend on controlled airflow for effective temperature management. Engine cover and sealing components help ensure cooling air follows its intended path rather than escaping through unnecessary openings.
  • A missing, badly damaged or incorrectly fitted cover component may create gaps in the engine's surrounding air-management system. While a single panel is only one part of the complete arrangement, maintaining all covers and seals in their correct positions helps the overall cooling system operate as intended.
  • Physical damage can also create fitment problems. A bent or distorted blade may interfere with neighbouring components, produce rattles or prevent associated engine covers from fitting correctly.
  • Corrosion is another common concern on older vehicles. Once rust has significantly weakened the component or affected its mounting points, replacement may provide a more reliable solution than attempting to retain a heavily deteriorated original.
  • For restoration projects, correct engine tinware and cover components also contribute significantly to an authentic and properly finished engine compartment.
  • Replacing a deteriorated or missing component with this OE Match Front Engine Cover Blade with Hole helps restore the completeness of the engine cover system, support proper cooling-air management and maintain an OE-style appearance.

With two valve covers, mounting hardware and gaskets included, the kit provides the essential components required for installation in one convenient package.

What Do Valve Covers Do?

Valve covers enclose and protect the upper valve train components while helping contain engine oil within the cylinder head assembly.

Their main functions include:

  • Protecting valve train components from dirt and contamination
  • Preventing engine oil from escaping
  • Maintaining a sealed environment around the valve gear
  • Supporting reliable engine operation
  • Protecting internal components from external debris

A correctly fitted valve cover and gasket are essential for maintaining an effective oil seal.

Why Upgrade to Cast Aluminium Valve Covers?

This makes the kit particularly suitable for engine refurbishment, restoration and performance-focused builds.

Why Do Valve Covers and Gaskets Fail?

Valve covers are exposed to constant engine heat, vibration and repeated heating and cooling cycles. Over time, covers can become damaged or distorted, while the sealing gaskets gradually harden and lose their ability to maintain an effective seal.

Common problems include:

  • Oil leaks around the valve cover
  • Hardened or deteriorated gaskets
  • Distorted sealing surfaces
  • Cracked or damaged covers
  • Damaged mounting points
  • Previous over-tightening of mounting hardware

Oil visible around the valve cover or cylinder head area can indicate that inspection is required.

When Should They Be Replaced?

Replacement or upgrading should be considered when:

  • Valve covers are damaged or distorted
  • Persistent oil leaks are present
  • Existing gaskets have deteriorated
  • Carrying out an engine rebuild
  • Restoring or refreshing the engine
  • Upgrading to stronger cast aluminium components

Installing new gaskets at the same time helps provide a fresh seal and reduces the risk of leaks from reusing ageing sealing components.

Front shock absorbers and fitting kit by Kits for selected Porsche Boxster 986 models from 09/1996 onwards. Supplied as a set of two, it is intended for a paired front-axle damper refresh using parts selected for the listed applications.

What This Product Does Front shock absorbers control front suspension movement by damping spring compression and rebound. They work with the springs, mounts and related suspension parts to help the front wheels follow the road surface in a controlled manner.

Functions

  • Damps front wheel and suspension movement.
  • Helps control bounce, pitch and nose dive.
  • Works with the coil springs and top mounts.
  • Supports a balanced left/right front-axle replacement.
  • Helps reduce unwanted movement that can contribute to tyre wear.

Symptoms of Fault

  • Excessive bouncing after bumps.
  • Knocking or creaking from the front suspension.
  • Damp or oily residue on the damper body.
  • Floaty ride or poor body control.
  • Nose dive when braking.
  • Uneven or cupped tyre wear.
  • Vague steering feel or tramlining.
  • A harsh ride can also point to seized mounts or incorrect spring pairing, so diagnosis is important.

Why Replacement Matters Front dampers are commonly changed to return damping function to the expected condition and to keep the front axle matched from side to side. Engine Fuel Line Kit
3-Piece Fuel Line Set for Engine Drop Installation

Fits:
Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera 1984 – 1989

This is a 3-piece engine fuel line set for the Porsche 911 3.2 litre Carrera. The set includes the damper to regulator fuel line, regulator to return fuel line, and fuel filter to fuel rails line.

This set is intended for use when the engine is removed from the car, allowing easier access to the fuel line routing at the back of the engine.

The fuel lines connect key engine bay fuel system components including the fuel damper, fuel pressure regulator, return line, fuel filter, and fuel rails. Replacing these lines helps restore safe and reliable fuel delivery through the engine fuel system.

Functions
Replaces the 3 main engine fuel lines
Includes damper to regulator fuel line
Includes regulator to return fuel line
Includes fuel filter to rails line
  Designed for engine drop installation
  Helps restore reliable fuel delivery
Suitable for fuel system service and restoration

Why Replace This Set?
Original fuel lines can deteriorate over time due to age, heat, fuel exposure, vibration, and engine bay conditions. Worn or perished fuel lines can cause fuel smell, seepage, leaks, pressure loss, or fuel delivery issues. Replacing the 3 main lines together is a sensible maintenance step during an engine drop or fuel system overhaul.

Installation Note
This fuel line set is best suited for installation while the engine is out of the car. With the engine removed, the lines can be accessed from the rear of the engine, making replacement more straightforward. If replacing the lines while the engine remains in the car, additional parts are usually required because access to the filter to rails line typically requires removal of the auxiliary heater blower motor and plenum, air filter box with AFM attached, and right-hand side intake manifold. For in-car installation, use the fuel line kit that also includes right-hand intake manifold gaskets and intermediate flanges.

When to Use This Set
Engine drop is being carried out
Main engine fuel lines are old, cracked, leaking, or perished
Fuel smell is present in the engine bay
Preventive fuel system maintenance is being completed
Fuel line replacement is part of engine restoration
Fuel pressure or delivery issues are being investigated
Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera fuel system refurbishment is in progress.

Where it fits on the car
This set fits in the engine bay fuel system on Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera models. It services the fuel line routing between the fuel damper, fuel pressure regulator, return circuit, fuel filter, and fuel rails.

Engine Fuel Line, Intake Gasket, Intermediate Flange & Fuel Filter Kit
For in-car fuel line replacement without engine drop

Fits:
Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera 1984 – 1989

Complete engine fuel line service kit for Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera models from 1984 to 1989. This kit is designed for replacing the main engine fuel lines while the engine remains in the car and includes OE Match, OE Porsche, and MAHLE components required to complete the job correctly.

This is a complete engine fuel line replacement kit for the Porsche 911 3.2 litre Carrera. The kit includes the 3 main engine fuel lines, right-hand side intake manifold gaskets, intermediate flanges, and fuel filter.

It is ideal for owners or workshops replacing the fuel lines without carrying out a full engine drop.

What this kit does
The kit replaces the key engine bay fuel lines that connect the fuel damper, fuel pressure regulator, return line, fuel filter, and fuel rails. It also includes the intake gaskets and intermediate flanges required when removing and refitting the right-hand intake manifold for access.

Functions:
•  Replaces the 3 main engine fuel lines
•  Includes damper to regulator fuel line
•  Includes regulator to return fuel line
•  Includes fuel filter to rails line
•  Includes right-hand intake manifold gaskets
•  Includes intermediate flanges for intake refitting
•  Includes replacement MAHLE fuel filter
•  Suitable for in-car fuel line replacement
•  Ideal for Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera fuel system service.

Why Use This Kit?
Fuel lines on classic Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera models can deteriorate with age, heat, fuel exposure, and engine bay conditions. Old or perished fuel lines can become a safety concern and may lead to fuel smell, leaks, pressure loss, or poor fuel system reliability. This kit brings together the main components required to replace the engine fuel lines properly, especially when carrying out the work with the engine still installed in the car.

Installation Note
Replacement of these 3 fuel lines is often carried out during an engine drop, but they can also be replaced with the engine in place. For in-car replacement, access is improved by removing the auxiliary heater blower motor and plenum, the air filter box with AFM attached, and the right-hand side intake manifold.

A small mirror can be useful when working in the forward area of the engine near the fuel pressure regulator.

When to Use This Kit
Fuel lines are old, cracked, leaking, or perished
•  Fuel smell is present in the engine bay
•  Preventive fuel system maintenance is being carried out
•  Fuel line replacement is being done without engine removal
Right-hand intake manifold is being removed for access
•  Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera fuel system restoration is in progress.

Where it fits on the car
This kit fits in the engine bay fuel system on Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera models. It services the fuel line routing between the damper, regulator, return line, fuel filter, and fuel rails, with supporting intake components for right-hand manifold removal and refitting.

The fresh air flap knob attaches directly to the ventilation control mechanism, providing a secure grip and smooth operation when opening or closing the fresh air flap. It allows the driver to adjust cabin ventilation for improved comfort and airflow. Over time, repeated use, UV exposure, and ageing can cause the original knob to crack, loosen, fade, or become damaged, affecting both the operation of the ventilation controls and the appearance of the dashboard. Replacing a worn or damaged knob restores proper functionality while preserving the original interior styling.

What This Product Does:
  • Operates the fresh air flap control mechanism.
  • Allows precise adjustment of cabin ventilation.
  • Provides a comfortable and secure grip.
  • Restores the original dashboard appearance.
  • Replaces worn, cracked, or damaged control knobs.
